My philosophy is that veterinary medicine is really all about people and caring for them by making sure they get to spend long, and healthy lives with their special 4-legged family members - Dr. Clark

Overall

Very disappointed! After moving to Kalispell from Helena, I needed a dog sitter for my two boxers, but they required vaccinations first. We had no recommendations at the time, so we found this place o the web. The first visit was to update their vaccines, one of which was for "kennel cough." My previous vet always did the injectable vaccines, but Dr. Gordon took them out of the room and gave them the spray in their nose (red flag #1). The next day, one of my dogs developed a cough. I called them back to have him be seen, and the receptionist told me to bring him in to be seen (red flag #2). I have NEVER had a vet tell me to bring a coughing dog into the office. Kennel cough is so contagious! This second time, I saw Dr. Clark. He told me that sometimes the dogs will develop a cough as their systems are adjusting to the new form of vaccine (what?!) and prescribed my pooch antibiotics. I asked him if I should take some antibiotics home for my other dog, just in case. Dr. Clark told me that that wasn't necessary, but if she were to develop a cough, he can call some in for me. Not surprisingly, the next day I had him call some in because now BOTH of my dogs are hacking violently. When we called back four days later, they said that it can take up to ten days to clear. They also offered to call in a prescription for cough medicine, but we live a half hour away and they would've been closed by the time we got there. So, they said to get some cough syrup from our local pharmacy, but managed to leave out the fact that giving dogs sugar-free cough syrup could kill them (and that was all the pharmacy had). Luckily, the pharmacist in our town caught that before we bought the medicine. This information should have been shared by the receptionist at the vet's office (who put us on hold to consult with "the vet."). Moral of the story: I took two perfectly healthy dogs in there, and now I have dogs that dry heave for hours on end. I am worried for my dogs, and livid at this office. I will NEVER be back.
