Lee's Pet Grooming & Day Care

I am an experienced groomer who had been hired to work full time at Club Pet. My initial conversations with Victoria were extremely positive and hopeful, except for her total disregard for my (then) current employer and client base, which should have been a sign. By the sounds of it the business was successful with a trained hygienist and two on staff groomers ( one was leaving back to IL which is the reason for my hire).  She needed a groomer immediately so I had left the successful salon I was managing in a heartbeat (4 weeks) for the full time job that was waiting for me...or so I thought... I even flew with my dog to chicago to leave him with family for his quarantine time as the position needed to be filled ASAP, or I was lead to believe.

Upon moving to the island the environment was much different that I had been told. There were no other groomers on staff except for a "vacationing groomer". Victoria had preached about everyone being family but that's the opposite of what happened to me. I came here and was treated like a criminal, regardless of my skills and knowledge in the industry. I still have yet to be paid for the work in which I completed in the salon. Victoria has ignored my multiple requests for payment and rightful treatment of employees but nothing has resulted from these requests. 

I am not the only groomer who has been brought to the island and then 'left for dead' by this business. I have groomed from the east coast to the west coast and have never  felt more used and mistreated than with this business. My skills, knowledge, and compassion for my job was told to be useless and unqualified.

The professionalism found in this salon is slim to say the least. I have witnessed a small dog being shaved down ( by Victoria) for more than a few hours when it should have taken less than a quarter of that time. This I find to be unacceptable treatment of the pets. Not only is it stressful to be on the table that long but to have an unskilled and untrained groomer working on people's pets without their knowledge is a risk to the pets well being( especially when there is no one else on staff with prior canine first aid knowledge).  Another huge issue with the ownership is they don't support other local businesses. Victoria has even gone as far as yelling accusations at customers to try and manipulate them to bringing their business to her salon instead of another. Telling lies about other people in the same industry is just outrageous and extremely poor sportsmanship which should not be tolerates especially in  a place like Maui.

I just wanted to share my professional experience in this salon so pet owners are aware of  what goes on behind closed doors. Please keep your pet out of harms way and find a compassionate and experienced groomer to style your pet.

Im sooo relieved that I found a place to take my toy poodle jimmy.

I have been here for a little over a year,and have taken my dog to two other shops one in Haiku and the other in Wailuku.Both experiences were horrifying!I recieved terrible customer service and my sweet Jimmy was very upset.I tried grooming him at home EEEK!!

I found lee's through yellow pages and thought I would try one more time...

I was so impressed with how friendly and helpful the entire staff was.My Jimmy was not scared when I came to get him (I dont think he wanted to leave),he was beautiful and smelled wonderful.

The shop itself was very clean and inviting.

I would definatley reccomend Lee's too anyone looking for a groomer. We haven't tried her daycare yet but are very excited about it , what a wonderful idea!

I just love these people, they were so wonderful with me and my pets, I have had very bad grooming experiences with other groomers on this island. They made me feel confortable with their loving customer service, and pet knowledge. The shop is just beautiful and very clean. I will never get my dog groomed anywhere else.. Tammy Jones.... Kula
