My transmission died. Allan replaced it with a rebuilt transmission from AutoZone. He broke something in the steering column during the install—which he replaced. When I got the car back, the transmission made a loud whining noise. I took it back to him (under warranty) and he shrugged his shoulders and told me to take it to Nissan. Nissan diagnosed that Allan had severely overfilled the transmission fluid. I took the car back to Allan, who supposedly adjusted the fluid level. I then went on a long out-of-state trip. The loud noise got worse, the left front wheel started making a loud rattling noise, and the steering column sounded like it was going to fly apart. I felt that the car was unsafe to drive, so, I had it checked out at an out-of-state shop. Turns out, Allan did not tighten ANY of the brake caliper bolts when he reinstalled it during the transmission installation—One bolt fell out. The mechanic said this could have gotten my wife and me killed. I went back to Allan, who fixed the steering column rattle, but didn't address the transmission noise. About a month later, while on the interstate, the car suddenly slowed down and would not go above 50MPH. I took it back to Allan again, who this time KEPT MY CAR FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH. I raised hell with Allan, who told me AutoZone had him send my car to the Nissan dealership, claiming that Nissan was the hold up. Instead of following up, he gave me the phone number for AutoZone's warranty. I talked to the guy from AutoZone, who talked to the Nissan dealership and called me back, saying the car was ready for pickup. When I picked it up, they said the problem was that the transmission fluid was STILL severely overfilled. Nissan adjusted the fluid level, and the car has been great ever since. Allan refused to accept responsibility for overfilling the fluid, then not adjusting the fluid when I took it back to him the 2nd time, and he refused to reimburse me the $140 I spent in diagnoses and repairs of his faulty work.
