Florida Gateway Resort

I'll start by saying I have no tolerance or respect for people that can't tell the truth. We reserved a particular site two months out. I spoke with them on 3 different occasions, including 30 minutes away from arrival, and each time they reasurred me we had our lot. Imagine our surprise when we arrived. Here's how they opporate, whoever pays the most gets the site regardless if it's been reserved. If that's how they want to do it, then don't reserve spots and make promises you won't keep. Now about the campground, make sure your spot faces east in the afternoon or you will absolutely roast!!! There is not a single tree at the campground, no shade at any of the rental sites. The sites are great if you get the ones with a gazebo, hot tub, gas grill and firepit. They run about $100 a night. There is a really nice swimming pond with a nice beach. They chlorinate it and it has around 10 total fountains circulating the water so we felt good a about the quality of the water. They also have a pool but most people spend the day at the pond. They just got a new manager, mike, who is awesome. He started two days before we arrived. He's not the one that lied to us. All in all as far as the campground goes we may be back. But we'll hold our breath about the site we get or are told we will get.
