Primary Care
In certain circumstances however, we will see you without a request from your physician. If your insurance is an (HMO, POS or other Managed Care Provider) you may be required to obtain a referral from your primary care physician.
Emergency Care
After normal business hours and on weekends all messages are recorded and retrieved on the next business day. You may reach your doctor anytime by calling 910 577 2345. In the event of a life-threatening emergency please call 911 or go to the Emergency Room.
Colonoscopy
A colonoscopy is an outpatient procedure in which the inside of the large intestine (colon and rectum) is examined. A colonoscopy is commonly used to evaluate gastrointestinal symptoms, such as rectal and intestinal bleeding, abdominal pain, or changes in bowel habits. Colonoscopies are also performed in individuals without symptoms to check for colorectal polyps or cancer. A screening colonoscopy is recommended for anyone 50 years of age and older, 45 years and older in African Americans, and for anyone with parents, siblings or children with a history of colorectal cancer or polyps.

Dr Eweje is board certified in Gastroenterology. He graduated medical school in 1986 before proceeding to the United Kingdom for residency training, becoming a member of the Royal College of Physicians in 1993(equivalent to US board certification in Internal Medicine). He received his United States residency training in Internal medicine, and fellowship in Gastroenterology both at Nassau County University Center in Long Island, New York. He entered private practice in Jacksonville in 1997 where he has continued to provide top notch care to the citizens of Onslow and neighboring counties.

We participate in the study of various medications used for treating gastrointestinal diseases. All our clinical studies are FDA approved, and are closely monitored by an Institutional Review Board.
