        Edilberto Benitez, MD Originally from Cuba, Dr. Benitez moved to the US as a teenager, where he earned an undergraduate degree at Miami Dade Collegeâ??s Honors College, graduating with highest honors and distinctions and later at Florida International University, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biological Sciences. His early undergraduate lab research work, led to important contributions in the area of cellular and molecular Biology and Cancer research, where he published work contributing to elucidation of molecular mechanisms leading to chemotherapy agent resistance.
