Endometriosis
All of our physicians are board-certified reproductive medicine subspecialists who endeavor to see their own patients. We have one very experienced nurse practitioner who works in our Tallahassee office. If your physician is not available on any particular visit you will see one of our other physicians. All of our physicians have received “Best Doctor” and “Compassionate Care” awards. Our infertility nurses average over eight years of infertility care experience. We have three doctoral and, one masters level embryologists. Our extensive staff allows us to offer several services not provided by most reproductive medicine programs, i.e., in-house epididymal/testicular sperm extractions, a cryo egg bank, donor embryo bank, gestational surrogate services as well as in-house pre-embryo genetic testing. Linda Fricke, ARNP, is certified in Women’s Health and has worked in Obstetrics for over 30 years. She obtained her nursing degree at Florida State University and began working in Labor & Delivery immediately. Her keen interest in human reproduction focused her professional energy on Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility. She obtained a Master’s degree in Nursing at the University of Alabama (Birmingham), followed by certification as a Nurse Practitioner.

B. Jordan, MS has recently joined our lab working in the embryology/andrology/Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) departments. She has earned a Bachelors in Forensic Chemistry from Hampton University and a Masters in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Central Florida. Brandi has chemical, blood banking, clinical and microbiology laboratory experience with past research experience involving prostate cancer, Crohn’s disease and early stage drug development assays.

Ultrasound
An ultrasound examination is used to monitor the size of the follicles (Small fluid filled sacs on the ovary containing eggs). Depending on the situation, a medication (hCG) may be given to induce ovulation. hCG acts to stimulate the release of eggs from the follicles with a predictable timing. An insemination is then typically performed roughly 24 hours after hCG is given.
X-Rays
Chemotherapy
To sperm and egg producing cells often occurs. Chemotherapy drugs vary in toxicity. In general, the more courses of chemotherapy, the more damage is likely.
Radiation Therapy
Radiation Therapy also kills rapidly dividing cells, but only in or around its target area. If the radiation field includes the brain or is aimed close to or at the pelvic areas of the body it may cause infertility by damaging areas that control hormone production or by direct damage to the testes or ovaries.

Vasectomy
Post-vasectomy patient can qualify, but require pre-treatment hormonal testing indicative of continued sperm production, followed by sperm retrieval for egg fertilization. (The costs of the hormonal testing and sperm retrieval of the male partner are not included in the refundable donor egg IVF program and are performed at an additional charge). If no sperm or poor quality sperm is obtained from the epididymis or testicle, the couple must be willing to use donor sperm to continue qualification in the program.
Robotic Surgery
She completed her fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, and trained in elective robotic surgery at St. Francis Hospital, San Francisco.
Hysterectomy
The physicians at the Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine will have final discretion as to whether someone is accepted into the program or is released from the program. A patient will be released from the program by Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine’s physicians only if one of the qualifying criteria is not longer valid, e.g., if the female patient underwent a hysterectomy, or is deemed medically not suitable for carrying a pregnancy. If a patient is released from the program or voluntarily leaves the program prior to completion of all three donor egg IVF transfers and any resulting cryopreserved embryo transfers, the program will not be considered fulfilled. Therefore, charges up to the point of program discontinuation will be calculated on current F.I.R.M. individual (“a la carte”) service pricing. If the total of individual charges at the time of program discontinuation exceeds the initial donor egg IVF refund cost of $29,500 they will be waived, and if the total individual charges are less than the original $29,500 the difference will be refunded.
Laparoscopy
If defects and abnormalities are discovered during a diagnostic laparoscopy, the procedure can become an operative laparoscopy. During an operative laparoscopy, the physician inserts additional instruments such as probes, scissors, grasping instruments, biopsy forceps, electrosurgical or laser instruments through two or three additional incisions. Lesions
Laparoscopy is a minor surgical procedure performed on an outpatient basis, usually under general anesthesia. The physician inserts a laparoscope (a narrow, lighted telescope) through a small incision within or just below the navel to view the uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries. One or two small probes are usually inserted through another incision above the pubic region and/or lower part of the abdominal wall to view the pelvic organs. Additionally, dye is inserted through the cervix to determine tubal patency. If the physician does not detect abnormalities, one or two stitches are used to close the incisions.
