A New Beginning Moving & Storage

I called A New Beginning yesterday after finding them on Craigslist while I was looking for help unloading a truck. I confirmed several times on the phone that a) they were available at any point that afternoon, since I hadn't yet scheduled the delivery and that b) they would only be charging me 85 dollars for three men and an hour of labor.

It turned out that neither was true. When I got a call from the company asking me if I was ready for the truck to arrive in an hour, I called A New Beginning. I was assured that they would be there within an hour. An hour later, my contact at A New Beginning told me he was still "rounding up the guys." I tried to stress that I only had two hours of the truck's time and that any delays would be enormously costly. He assured me he'd be there in twenty minutes. I kept calling to check up--in the end, he was an hour and a half late and told me that his car had stalled. Now, that can happen to anybody, but he would have been half an hour late even if the car *hadn't* stalled.

Finally, he arrived with two men. They were efficient but disgruntled, and trying to get them to work more than 35 minutes was like pulling teeth. For 35 minutes work, they decided they deserved to be paid triple the price (I assure you, there was no mention of a three-hour minimum on the phone). So they left with ninety dollars, having done 35 minutes of work an hour and a half late. Really, in a job market like this, I'm sure you can find a more reliable more honest alternative.

I have juse discoverd he IS NOT BONDED!!! He says he has insurance and things will get taken care of and to 'read his contract.. And if and when they do I will update this review. I am not sure what kind of insurance. Not being bonded is not good.
What you see is not what you get. I hired James Davis, and New Beginings to move my home. He bragged about how 'connected' he was and could get good rates at u haul, But when it came time to get the rate, he said he would take care of it and I was over charged by u haul $349.00 making a total of more then 600.00 for my trailer more then the rate I could have recieved on my own
When he said he would come by and go over to Uhaul to 'fix' the problem, He never showed, called, returned calls. Just disapeared. His word is not good.
After the move, to which I had to actualy help him with the off load, because he was too tired. I had even offered to hire help he refused. Why I don't know. I was stuck with him, in Arizona. I had had abdomin surgurys and had told him I couldn't move my belongings, this is why I had hired him. disaster, I had no choice to protect my things. He was careless putting scrathes in things, and generally, sloppy work.
Perhaps most importantly, he promises he 'gurantees' everything and will pay to have anything fixed, but when approached, he denies and points to his contract saying he only owes, some .60 per pound. Alot of double talk. He presents himself very well. Very smooth. But, in the end, Once he gets his money he's gone for good.
He says one thing to get you roped in, then switches, his tune when things go wrong. And he doesn't answer his phone to solve your problem. It's only about getting your money. I wished I had read the reviews, He tells you how 'cheep' he is. Thing is, it's not a bargin if your stuff gets messed up. And zero back up.
I would have been lightyears ahead if I had gone with a 'legitmate mover and paid up. It would have been more exspensive up front, but I would'nt have the nightmare I have now. in the end James Davis, DIDN'T COME THROUGH, To protect my belongings I had to stage, and move my belongings while he slept. for about 2 hours. He never made good on anything just denied and pointed to his contract. HE DIDN'T DO WHAT I HAD PAID HIM TO DO. Has an excuse for everything and belives he invented both air and water, the best I could tell someone if your considering this company is run,...run as far from them as you can. I WOULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS, BUT SYSTEM WILL NOT ALLOW FOR THIS. I will post photographs if possible, so you can see for yourself. I hope this review gives cause to resolve my damages.

A dyson vacuum never showed up as it was left behind. He left Indy at 12:35 for a 90 minute trip to Fountain county and arrives at 4:05. When I called to find out where my missing goods were, no answer. He showed up to move me one hour late with a girl and a helper who smelled of etoh; charging me $90an hour for these 2 helpers. I paid for better servuice than this,

James and Jason were very friendly and hard-working. We were referred to them from a friend who moved from Indiana to North Carolina. We moved from Indiana to South Florida and we needed to find the most affordable and honest movers to get our home safely 1200 miles. This company doesn't charge as much as the other movers, but gets the job done the same, if not better. We will continue to recommend them.

It's not really my style to write fluffy reviews on advertiser websites, but my wife and I felt the need to share our recent moving experience with A New Beginning Moving & Storage. Simply stated, James and his crew did a remarkable job of making moving day nearly stress free. From packing to delivery, the entire process went exactly the way they said it would. Everything arrived just the way it left our previous place.



Too many companies today make big promises they can't deliver on. Rest assured, A New Beginning Moving & Storage is the exception to the rule. We will definitely use them for our next move...although we hope it is not anytime soon!
