Sunset Memorial Park

Mother in law passed Nov. 2016- we requested she be buried with her mother who has passed several years earlier and had a site at Sunset. Not a problem they said. Service was fine because we had our checkbook open. 1. noticed they never put the ending date on grandmom's memorial. 2. Ordered mother in laws memorial in June. Paid in full ($3,200) Andrea told us she would take care of everything and that it would be 6-8 weeks for arrival. I called in August to check on things- no memorial yet. Called in September-Andrea told me marble company has lost their engraver and just hired a new person and that she was behind in orders. It would be about another 2 weeks. Received a call 1st week of October by Debra, the sales manager- the memorial had never been ordered until the end of September! Funny- they wouldn't do anything until we paid in full- after they got their money- they don't care what happens. Debra called last week and informed me the memorial was being delivered last Friday and that she assured me she'd "keep me informed the entire time until the memorial is ready to be placed in the ground" It's now the following Thursday and still no word. Called and Debra's always in meetings? Do no trust these people. They take full advantage of families when they're mourning and they will be reported to the BBB.

I contacted Sunset Memorial Park because my cousin and his wife are buried there and I needed their grave location. I had to leave a message, but I figured they may be busy so I called back in about half an hours time and spoke with Andrea. She was very nice and stated that she was with some clients at the time, but as soon as she was done she would research my cousin and his wife and get back to me. Well, within a couple of hours I had the information thanks to Andrea. Today, I got a follow up call to ensure that the matter was taken care of. The ladies I spoke with seemed very caring and committed to their profession.

Stay away from this place and Kirk & Nice - they are in bed together. It should be illegal what these folks do - sell plots years ago and don't honor prices and monies are not held in interest bearing accounts. I wish I could also give them a negative review. As previous reviewper stated HORRENDOUS customer service and they treat you with respect only if the check book is wide open.

My father has been buried here for 5 years and if we had the money to move him we would. The cemetery grounds are not kept up with at all. We have made several complaints about the awful condition of my dads grave with the latest one being yesterday. I have not heard back from anyone yet. My daughter and spent 15 minutes trying to find his grave yelsterday only to realize his flat headstone, like many others had been completely covered over by grass. This is absolutely unacceptable and very upsetting for our family! I would recommend to all that you stay away from this place. We had visited 4 other local cemeteries yesterday and none were like this. STAY AWAY!

I wish I could give this business a negative rating! My family has about 10 plots, which most were bought over 30 years ago and my in laws also have plots there. Since my dad died 6 years ago, boy they sure showed their true colors of HORRENDOUS customer service to the loved ones of the deceased! They sure were happy to take my family's money and were happy to do whatever they could when the checkbook was opened, but now they are nasty and rude and should not work with people who grieve everyday for the loved ones they lost! I HIGHLY recommend you and your loved ones to be buried ANYWHERE, than Sunset Memorial Park! My husband and I will unfortunately have both sets of parents buried here, but we will not give our hard earned money to heartleas people who would treat our loved ones grieving like pieces of crap and throw out artificial flowers and decorations and talk to them like they are pieces of crap, like they have treated my mom and myself when we called about my grandparent's grave and my dad's grave!!

If you are able pick another business to handle your final wishes, DO SO! My Uncle died in August 2014. He was prepaid but since there was some drama within the "family" we are unable to lay him to rest where he paid to be. We have to take him elsewhere which is not a problem. The problem is this cemetery has money we need to bury him and to date they have not released it 11/12/14. Funny how a business that is all about comfort, ease, and compassion shows NONE. And don't expect a call back once you've paid them any money!!! HUGE JOKE>>>THEY COULDN'T CARE LESS ABOUT YOU OR YOUR FAMILY. So sad and so unnecessary to put a grieving family through more stress. I would give this business minus 2 stars if I could

After owning a plot for 35yrs, our family had 24hrs to get to the cemetery to "verify" the plot. Reality, they just want to try to suck you into spending more money. When I explained the hardship of getting to the site (don't drive), the man had the nerve to ask how we were getting to the burial! As if it isn't a common tradition for the family to be picked up by funeral home limousine. Horrendous customer service - wish I had the funds to tell him to stick his plot where the sun don't shine and would go elsewhere.

This cemetery was not prepared to bury 2 people on the same morning. Our family had to wait almost an hour while they buried someone else. This wasn't a 24 hour deal. On top of that they gave us a major nasty attitude. Horrible customer service.
