Dental Examination

Treatment with topical fluoride during dental exams can strengthen the teeth and make them more cavity resistant.
X-rays
Dental imaging is a powerful tool for dentists to diagnose and treat tooth and gum concerns. Digital dental X-rays are an upgrade from traditional film-based X-rays. Instead of X-ray film wedged into areas of the mouth, our dentists use digital sensors to create higher-quality X-ray images that are immediately saved on a computer. Patients often report they’re more comfortable to place in the mouth than the larger, stiffer traditional film trays. Dental technology lets our dentists view your digital X-rays immediately, whereas traditional X-ray film had to be developed first.
Oral Cancer Screening

Teeth Cleaning
A healthy mouth spends less time in the dentist’s chair. Patients with healthy, clean teeth may have their dental cleaning last 30 minutes, but patients with significant plaque and tartar may have longer cleanings (up to an hour). The rest of your appointment may take another 15 to 30 minutes, depending on if digital X-rays are necessary and what our dentists find while examining your teeth, jaw, bite, gums and oral tissues.
Fluoride Treatment
Topical fluoride treatments are applied to the tooth surface after the teeth erupt through the gums. Professional treatments with a dentist and fluoridated dental products, such as toothpaste and mouth rinses, can protect the teeth. These fluoride products and treatments rebuild weakened enamel and reverse early signs of tooth decay.

Fillings
Some patients also come to our practice to have existing silver amalgam fillings removed and replaced with composite resin fillings. The replacement of these old fillings not only creates a more-pleasing smile, but also reduces the risks associated with older mercury-filled restorations.
Resin Composite
Esthetics is important in today’s society and modern materials and techniques allow dentists to provide restorations that meet the high standards for health and function along with the appearance that many patients desire. Composite resin and ceramic materials that mimic natural tooth structure can be used in place of silver and other metal materials of the past. While gold is still considered one of the best restorative materials even today, it is not considered esthetic by many people. Tooth-colored alternatives to silver and gold can now be used to make improvements in appearance as well as health and function.
Gold Restorations
Modern dentistry has come a long way. It used to be if you needed a filling or a crown, you got a silver amalgam or gold restoration. Advances in dental materials now allow our dentists to repair cavities using modern, tooth-colored fillings or composite restorations. By using fillings made of composite resin, Dr. Nash can give you virtually undetectable fillings. You can have your teeth repaired without a silver smile.
Veneers
Like many cosmetic dental procedures, patients are interested in knowing the price tag beforehand. Your investment varies on number of teeth and other clinical factors. This makes composite veneers considerably cheaper than porcelain veneers, but composite veneers often need to be replaced within seven years. This is an important factor to consider when considering your veneer options.
Crowns
Tooth damage can be painful and unsightly. Dental crowns are restorations placed on top of damaged teeth to protect them from further harm, cover imperfections and restore strength. These caps are cemented over the damaged tooth and cover the visible tooth structure. Dental crowns are often used after a mouth injury or extensive dental work but may also be necessary to address wear and tear caused by teeth grinding.

Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment is a necessary dental procedure to save a tooth. When bacteria enter the inside of the tooth and infect the tooth pulp, it must be removed and sealed to prevent reinfection. Root canals relieve pain from an abscessed (infected) tooth by eliminating the inflamed pulp and cleaning the inside surfaces. This dental procedure may be required if a cavity has gone untreated for a long time or a tooth is cracked after an injury.

Dentures
Full dentures may involve an immediate set or conventional set of replacement teeth. Immediate dentures are created in advance and positioned over the gums after the teeth are extracted. The gum tissue needs time to heal after tooth removal, which typically takes eight to 12 weeks, and then conventional dentures can be placed. The immediate tooth replacements allow your mouth to recover while still providing artificial teeth that help you eat, speak and chew. Immediate dentures are not meant to be used long-term because the jawbone and gum tissues will shrink during the healing process, altering the fit of the oral appliance. They are a temporary solution while the mouth recovers and you wait for your conventional set to be ready.
Overdentures
Once the dental implants are placed in the jawbone, it takes around three to six months for osseointegration, which happens when the rods fuse with the jawbone. Dental impressions are taken of the upper and/or lower arches to craft your dentures. The overdenture is connected to the posts when completed in a dental lab or with CAD-CAM technology.

Invisalign allows you to take the aligners out to eat, meaning there are no food limitations. While previous generations had to avoid popcorn, apples and sticky snacks, Invisalign patients can eat whatever they’re craving. (Although it is best to limit sugary foods for optimal oral and overall health.)
Braces
Crooked teeth cause insecurity and lead to poorer oral health because it’s difficult to clean overcrowded areas. In the past, kids and adults may have avoided metal braces because of unsightly brackets and wires, but metal braces aren’t the only option anymore. More kids and adults can qualify for Invisalign orthodontic treatment with clear aligners than ever before. Invisalign allows you to straighten your smile discreetly and comfortably.

Teeth Whitening
If you are unable to complete your teeth whitening while at our office or if you are looking for a less-expensive teeth-whitening alternative, we also offer take-home teeth bleaching kits. These kits allow you to whiten your teeth at home, on your own schedule, but are much more effective than the strips and pastes you can buy over the counter.
