Dental Examination
A comprehensive dental examination and consultation at Lonestar Dental will give you the opportunity to meet the team and discuss your oral health concerns. Dr. Ahmad J. Akram and your dental hygienist will clean your teeth to reveal a sparkling smile and look for any concerning defects. Once the examination and cleaning concludes, Dr. Akram will go through any necessary treatment options with you.

Teeth Cleaning
Providing excellence in oral health care and education to children is the most important service we offer at Lonestar Dental. Most serious oral health issues originate when the teeth are developing. We want to ensure that our young patients receive regular comprehensive examinations, teeth cleaning and any necessary preventative treatments to keep teeth and gums healthy and strong.

Fillings
Resin Composite
Dental bonding is a procedure that uses composite resin (a putty-like material) to correct cosmetic damage to the teeth. Dr. Akram employs his excellent skills in cosmetic dentistry to sculpt the tooth-colored composite resin so it blends with the natural tooth. This is a conservative and affordable treatment that can bring back the sparkle to your smile.
Veneers
If you would like to completely change the appearance of your teeth or make moderate improvements, dental veneers are an affordable treatment that rejuvenates smiles. Dental veneers are attached to the surface of the tooth and do not require significant removal of surface enamel. Dr. Akram will provide a comprehensive consultation so you can make an informed decision on whether dental veneers are the right treatment option for your needs.
Crowns
Diet: Do not eat or drink for 1 hour after crown/bridge seat. Skip eating on the side of crown/bridge seat for your next meal. After that, you should be able to eat or drink like normal.

Dr. Dar is a native of Spring, Texas. He attended Klein High School and went to college at Southern Methodist University on a scholastic scholarship where he earned a B.S. in Biology. He then went on to earn his dental degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. He graduated in the top 15% of his class on the Dean’s honor list. Dr. Dar received numerous awards in Dental School including the prestigious American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Award, Southwest Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons Award and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology Award. After completing his dental degree, Dr. Dar received his medical degree from Stony Brook School of Medicine in New York. He completed a year of General Surgery training and a six-year residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at North Shore-LIJ in New York. During his residency, he obtained extensive training in Craniofacial Surgery, Orthognathic Surgery, Cleft Lip/Cleft Palate repair, Facial Trauma, Facial Reconstruction, Facial Cosmetic Surgery, Head and Neck Pathology, TMJ Surgery and Dental Implants. Dr. Dar is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support from the American College of Surgeons and the American Heart Association. Outside of work Dr. Dar enjoys running, reading and most importantly spending time with his family. Dr. Dar is excited about being back home in Texas.
