Mezzo Mare

After reading reviews, I was expecting a "funky" atmosphere with great food- however, our group of four was sorely disappointed. A wilted, pre-made, "held -in -the -refrigerator -with -other -plates- on -top -of -it -salad was a clue of what was to come. The dinners made their way towards us in what I assumed were family style serving platters - then discovered we were each given one of these gigantic platters with what seemed like a whole box of linguini as the base. The veal picatta did have some overcooked veal along with the capers and lemon - all which lacked taste. The shrimp linguini dish was OK - shrimp were good however the linguini was so overcooked that it fell apart. We should have known when we walked in - a Saturday night with only three tables with customers left a large room almost empty. Did I mention that when we asked what the specials were our waitress handed us index cards?! The specials were written in elementary school print on small cards! Never again! K.H.

A great Italian restaurant hidden in Hull. Atmosphere is quaint old world Italy with food to satisfy the largest of appetities.
