I had an amazing experience with Amelishan! I've been to a few other bridal stores before finding this place, and I can say this was the best service I have ever received. Pat was my sales clerk, and she was one of the main reasons I bought my dress here! She was so helpful and knew so much! And I could tell she really cared about me and my family! I cannot say enough good things about her! From the minute we walked in til the time we left, everyone was so nice and accomodating. I would definately reccommend this place to anyone. The selection and variety were huge. I even received a hand-written thank you card from Pat within a few weeks after we were there!

Staff was excellent, helpful and honest! She guided me which racks to look at for my price range and I got to pick some and she picked some and my guests as well. Very sweet and they let us take pictures of any of the dresses on me! It was a great experience and my dress was majorly on sale! Loved it!

Amelishan's Bridal was recommended to me by a friend so I knew that's where I wanted to go to find my wedding dress. We drove from Illinois and it was worth it. Sheryl was my consultant and she was wonderful and so attentive. This is my 2nd wedding so we are getting married on a beach in Jamaica plus my budget was very small. She let us go pull dresses as she did the same. She then recommended taking a look at bridesmaid dresses since most of them can be ordered in ivory. I'm so thankful for her suggestion because that really opened the doors to the possibilities. Sheryl was so patient and she very quickly knew what I had in mind when we started trying on the dresses. Then with the help of another consultant, whose name I can't remember, found "the dress." She then found the perfect accessories! It was such a wonderful experience and I can't wait for my dress to arrive. In fact, today I received the most beautiful card in the mail from Sheryl. I was looking for a specific dress so I started calling different bridal shops all over Wisconsin. I found Amelishan Bridal's website and I was really impressed when they claimed to have over 100 plus size bridal gowns to try on. Amanda answered the phone and checked for the dress in their inventory and then online to see what it looked like. While they did not have the exact dress, she remembered a dress they have that is almost identical. Of the 13 bridal shops I called, Amanda was the only person who took the time to look online at the dress I was interested in. She knew her inventory so well and was so nice that I made an appointment.



They are not exaggerating about having more than 100 plus size bridal gowns. I was amazed at the assortment that ranged from size 16 to size 30. I worked with Michelle and she was so much fun. We had a great 2 hour appointment and I found the perfect dress and accessories. Amanda and Michelle made it the atmosphere so relaxed and comfortable that I felt like I had known them for years. I will be getting my bridesmaids and my mom's dress there.



I read some of the other reviews here and found them misleading. The pricing on the dress does include the shipping unless you need it in a hurry and then RUSH shipping is extra. No different than any other bridal shop. There were not any extra hidden fee's. I paid a small upcharge for the size of the dress I was ordering but all plus size designers charge extra after you hit a certain size. This is standard and is not an Amelishan Bridal charge. I was even given 10% off my dress for ordering it the day I bought it.

Every bride deserves the experience I had at Amelishan. Check them out. They are truly amazing!

Amelishan is a wonderful bridal shop, for all bridal/bridesmaid needs!! The staff is great, sweet and easy to work with. They are great listeners and have an awesome selection of bridal dresses. It would be hard to not find what you're looking for. I had the best experience working with Pat, she listened to what I liked but especially to what I didn't like. When I asked her to be honest, she was and when she could tell I found my dress, she made the time fun and memorable. I highly recommend Amelishan Bridal to anyone looking for a fun, stress-free bridal dress experience!

I am beyond happy that I went to Amelishan! For my wedding dress I wanted something unique and not cookie cutter.

I had been to David's twice with no luck, had a horrible experience at Eva's, and was ready to just buy my dress online. I am soooooo glad I didn't. I worked with Stevie and she was so sweet. I picked the first dress we put on. The price was awesome, and I had not seen anything like it any place.

I had such an enjoyable time at Amelishan shopping for my wedding dress! Pat, my consultant, was awesome -- fun, efficient, and experienced! Incredible selection, incredible help - there is no need for a bride to go anywhere else.

My daughter & I went to Amelishan's for the second time last week in search of her perfect prom dress. She actually found a dress only to find out that someone at her school already purchased the dress. She didn't like any other dresses. Thanks to Michelle- she was bound & determined to find a dress for my daughter. She came back with dresses that had not even been inventoried yet 2014 dresses. In there, was 'the dress'. A perfect fit and my daughter left with a dress and couldn't be happier.
We couldn't have done it without Michelle and her determination~ awesome job! Thanks for going above & beyond.

Great Experience!

I had gone to 4 other Bridal stores. 3 were nightmares, 1 was very nice and helpful but didn't have somelthing I loved. When I arrived at Amelishan, I was told Stevie would be helping me. We pulled dresses and started trying them on. Stevie was amazing. She made me feel comfortable at all times. Understood what I was looking for and had great stories to tell about her and her husband. It was a breath of fresh air compared to what I had dealt with at other places. When I decided on my dress, she brought over a selection of veils and headpieces that I might like. I could tell she was listening when I spoke to her during my appoinment, because she brought exactly what I was looking for. So my experience was GREAT! I am taking my bridesmaids this weekend for their dresses. i am hoping we will have the same experience, and not be like some of these other reviews. I also thought it was very helpful when my measurements put me in different sizes, that the woman who does alterations took a moment to look at the dress I was buying, how it was made and helped to tell us which size to go with and explain exactly why to go with it. I will definitely submit a follow up review after my next visit and hopefully I will not be disappointed.

I would highly recommend Amelishan Bridal for finding the perfect wedding dress. First of all, they have Sunday business hours; extremely helpful when you do not/cannot take time to shop during the week, something that I found lacking at other shops. Also, Amelishan was the 7th bridal shop I had been to. Not that I had bad experiences at all of the other stores, but I hadn't found "the perfect one" yet and was getting a little discourgaed. Immediately upon entering Amelishan there was a palpable energy and I just knew I would be finding my ideal dress that day. I was so excited and greeted quickly by Pat H, my sales consultant. She was so helpful and got right down to business so as not to waste any of our appointment time. I ended up purchasing the first dress I tried on at Amelishan and couldn't be happier. Pat was so knowledgeable and helpful. She was able to move things along without making me feel rushed and was completely honest with me, something I truly value. She was also willing to suggest/add accessories and really made me feel like a beautiful bride. She was also very conscientious of giving us time to discuss and make an informed decision on such an important purchase. Furthermore, Amelishan has discounts for 1st time shoppers and for all bridesmaids, mother of the brides, and tuxes if you buy your dress there; something I had not seen before. Overall, my experience with Amelishan was amazing and I am so thankful to them!

I would agree with my fellow consumer when I say that perfect fittings was the worst experience involving my wedding to date. Joyce was very abrasive and rude. I was trying to be polite and upbeat and my maid of honor and I asked some reasonable questions about pricing and she was just down right grouchy. I was paying for her to do something and she just made me want to walk out. I told my fiance and bridesmaids about the experience and none of us will be returning for our dresses, alterations, or tuxes. A woman named Natalie helped me find my dress and I loved her. She made me feel excited about the prospect of finding my dress but ever since I paid for it I have gotten nothing but greif. I called about my veil more than 2 months after i was told itd arrive and I was told it was there but not processed. So I asked if I could keep it at the store with my dress. The woman was baffled and said "well I don't know why you needed to know where it is if you're not going to come get it now". Ok i spent over 1000 dollars at that store is it so unreasonable to want to know where my stuff (that was late arriving) was? So overall Amelishan has been nothing but terrible and perfect fittings owner Joyce has cured me of any desire to work with that store again.

Megan was so helpful to my bridesmaids and me. She helped me pick out the perfect dress, coordinated shipping dresses to out of town bridesmaids, and helped to find a dress for my 10 year old bridesmaid that matched all of the others! Amelishan has everything you need and very friendly staff!

I visited Amelishan's Bridal multiple times to find my prom dress because they had such a selection, I couldn't try them all on in one visit. After much help from Michelle, I finally found the perfect dress. Michelle gave me tips and advice on how to chose my dress and alterations I needed. She was very helpful in picking out accessories as well and was pleasant through all of my three visits! I was very pleased and would very much recommend this store!

We drove from Illinois to Amelishan's because we did not have a good experience down in Illinois. We got to Amelishan and were met buy a smiling Michelle R. who treated us all with kindness and listened to what my daughter wanted. She made what up till then was not a good experience into a very good experience and my daughter found her perfect dress. They also have gone back and picked out the bridesmaid dresses. Hopefully everything else will go as good.

I was extremely pleased with the excellent service at Amelishan’s Bridal. I didn’t call to make an appointment until the day we were going dress shopping. While it was late notice on my part, the staff at Amelishan’s were very accommodating and fit us in that afternoon with Jane, one of the consultants. Our group arrived early to look around and within minutes, Jane was able to meet with us – well before our appointment. Jane gave us her undivided attention until store-close, constantly offer suggestions based on my style preferences and limited budget. She spent much more time with us than the 1 ½ hours our appointment indicated, and did so without make us feel rushed or bothersome. She truly catered to us and was so kind. I chose Amelishan because of the positive store reviews on the internet and was not disappointed. Shopping for a wedding dress is often a once in a lifetime experience, and Jane at Amilishan’s really made this task effortless and enjoyable and made the day feel special.

I am a bridesmaid for a wedding. The bride chose Amelishan's for her dress, so the bridesmaids' dresses were picked there too. When I tried on dresses, I told the lady my husband and I were trying to conceive and to order the dress a bit bigger. Well when conception didn't happen, I called before our bridesmaid dresses had arrived and asked for a new (smaller) size. I was told there was nothing they could do because the dress order had already been processed. Now, I know that they have a business to run, but what happened to trying to make your customer happy. Nothing they could do?? Come on. Just return the dress to the warehouse and pick out a new size! Awful customer service! The only reason that I gave them 2 stars instead of one was because when I just went back with the bride to pick up her dress the alterations lady was super efficient and friendly.

Amelishan's had a very nice selection, and I found my wedding dress here. When I met staff in person (with the exception of the alterations person) they were always very nice. Issues discussed over the phone were a different matter entirely.



I had several issues that were never satisfactorily addressed, which definitely put a damper on the experience and which no bride should have to deal with. The alterations woman was rude. She seemed surprised that I was so short. As if I need to be reminded that I am only a couple inches over 5 feet tall. She wasn't exactly a giant, at least in height -- more of an ogre.



What else? My dress end up necessitating, in Amelishan's opinion, a rush order and rush fee. The rush meant that the dress was in something like 4 months before my wedding. I didn't need that much time to have the skirt hemmed. I didn't need further alterations. They charged me a rush fee a couple of days after I ordered the dress costing over $1,000. No word was mentioned of an additional rush fee when I bought the dress and they charged it on my credit card. They have you caught. You want the dress, you need the dress.



The dress came in extra early. When I tried the dress on, the store was near closing time, so I didn't have much time to examine it in the poor lighting. When I took it home, I noticed marks on the bodice. I was almost as if there were rust stains from where a needle had been interwoven in the fabric or where stitches had previously been located. I had already signed a waiver, and Amelishan had no interest in paying for the dress to be cleaned, even spot cleaned. And we were worried that any work on the dress, like a $150 cleaning, could make the matter worse, leave stains, etc.. It wasn't that noticeable, but just really very sad. Now after the wedding and a professional cleaning, it looks perfect. Too bad it wasn't that way on my wedding day.

If you cannot find a dress here, then I might be concerned you will not be able to find a dress! The selection is great and fashion forward and my dress shopping experience was absolutely perfect at Amelishan Bridal! The bridal consultant, Michelle Polanco, was absolutely fabulous! She really helped with the decision process by making it fun and was key in finding my dream dress!

I sincerly recommend this bridal shop for your wedding gown.

I tried on gowns when I first got engaged in May and found "the one" (my dream dress). I didnt buy it that day because our wedding was originally set for September 1, 2012 and I had plenty of time or so I thought. In November a family emergency happened and we decided to move the wedding up to December 17, 2011. That gave me a couple weeks to put together a wedding. I thought there would be no way for me to get my dream dress, but Amelishan Bridal made it happen! There was no time to order the dress and wait for it to arrive so they let me purchase the dress off the rack and got me into alterations right away. I can never thank them enough! This is not a cookie cutter bridal shop, but rather a special personalized to your unique situation kind of place. I walked in a devastated bride who thought she would never have her dream dress to walking out feeling amazing, all because of Amelishan Bridal!

Visit Amelishan only if you want to be ignored. My second trip to Amelishan was a disaster. I had tried wedding dresses on with them before and came back to try one dress on again. I told them which dress I was looking for when I made my appointment and I assumed they would pull the dress for me -- WRONG!

I arrived 10 min. prior to my appointment and didn't see a dressing room until 20 min. AFTER my scheduled time. The consultant told me she didn't know what dress I was there to try on again, so could I please find it for her? I found it. And waited. And waited. "Are you sure you don't want to try any other dresses on?" No, I don't. So, I continued to wait.

When I finally got a room, my consultant went back to helping her previous appointment. I put the dress on myself. She was nowhere when I decided I wanted to purchase the dress and was actually still helping the other person as I proceeded to pay for my dress.

Then, when I went to pick up my dress, there were 3 or 4 employees at the desk, NONE of them acknowledged me even though NONE of them were on the phone or helping other brides. A woman crossing the back of the store asked me if I had been helped -- I said no and she proceeded to find my dress for me. During the course of conversation she told me that she had just started working there. Obviously, Amelishan didn't have enough time to teach her how to ignore customers, yet.

Please avoid giving them your business. Finding a wedding dress is a once in a lifetime experience and it's not worth wasting it at Amelishan.
