Texas Art Supply

Well, they do have a lot of art supplies here. However, I won't be going back. Purchased a flexible arm lamp for my daughter's desk, to do her homework on. It worked for about 6 months, then the switch discontinued working. I consider a lamp a durable type good, one that should last years and years, so I motored around the corner to the Texas Art Supply on Voss where I bought this lamp.



Like many, I keep all of my records electronically, and after punching into Quicken, I discard the paper - recycle if possible, of course.



When I showed up at Texas Art Supply, the manager would not exchange the lamp - she needed a receipt. She offered to order me the part so I could do the repair. Crazy, I'm not a lamp repair technician so I politely declined her offer.



I called the credit card company and they were supposed to fax the receipt, but according to Joshua at Texas Art, it never arrived. Long story short, I left the defective lamp at Texas Art. It was only a $40 item, so it certainly is not worth continueing to motor over and spend time with Joshua and his supervisor trying to get Texas Art to exchange their defective merchandise. So I won't.



Can you believe that Joshua's supervisor suggested that since I had received 6 months of service from the lamp that I did get what I paid for, 6 months of lamp life for the purchase of a durable good?



Needless to say, I'm not happy. I certainly won't be going back to Texas Art. If they queried their records, they would see that I was a many time repeat customer - but not any more.



The upside is I don't have to ask myself anylonger if Texas Art may have an item I need 'cuz I won't be going there regardless!!
