I bought a portable dvd player, reduced price, because it was missing the ac adapter. The clerk (Who asserted himself for "being in this business for 30 years" was very nice, and assured me the player worked & just needed the adapter. He instructed me to go to Radio Shack & get one, and even wrote the correct polarity on my receipt. I did, indeed gotto Radio Shack, and the salesperson there kindly opened the correct ac adapter & tip, then used his movie & plugged it in to test. After a reasonable amount of time, he told me it didnt work & take it back, I got "ripped"

I went back & the clerk was not as nice as he was when I purchased it, & basically told me tough luck. NO RETURNS. I spoke with the manager there, and she was a bit nicer, but was hard as the first clerk.

Seems the return policy changed from 7 days to 24 hrs within a week. + I "didn't have the cord" ( Which you remeber I bought without.

I asked how much she would give me on a pawn, she said $10.00, but really couldnt take it "without a cord".

I am not a bad person, & I don't want something for nothing, but I stated the Fair Trade Act requires that an item do what it is intended to do at least once. How can a retail outlet be allowed to sell junk, and get away with it?

BTW, I had bought a scanner the week before that was stated to have everything, & was missing a cable, which I replaced, and said nothing.

BUYER BEWARE, This place is operating beneath federal & State guidelines, and consumers have no recourse with the merchant, so must take to the Attorney General, which I will.

FYI, The dvd player was $30.00. Was it worth the fine you will receive?
