I'm a grounded, practical, nuts and bolts kind of guy. I don't like to get too caught up in the theoretical. (Although I try and offer poignant advice through the lens of my 30+ years of practice.) Therapy is more than just talking to people. It is the application of scientific knowledge. from research on human behavior, the change process, and interpersonal relationships. I specialize in brining the reluctant individual to the table. Therapy works well when people are willing participants. When sharing your feelings is not always comfortable, I am the guy who can usually get someone to talk. I often give homework and have been known to ask challenging questions. Most of my clients are high achieving, highly successful people who have perhaps struggled in their personal life at times because of the stress of their careers or lifestyle. My work as the Staff Psychologist for the Houston Fire Department has also enhanced my understanding of traumatic stress, sleep disorders, crisis management, substance issues, and suicide prevention. I am one of the few private practitioners in Houston with practical experience in relieving and resolving Post Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD).
