HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PLEASE PEOPLE READ THE COMMENTS AS I DID BUT WENT ANYWAY like a big dummy cause my cousin took her daughter so I was press for time and gave them a try anyway WEEELLLL needless to say I SHOULD HAVE LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS! BUT THESE PARTICULAR AFRICANS DO NOT LIKE AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN AND THEIR SERVICE SHOWS IT ..IT'S SO SAD.I HAVE WAAAYY TO MUCH TO SAY THERE'S NOT ENOUGH ROOM BUT SERIOUSLY THEY DON'T GIVE ONE CARE ABOUT YOU ONLY YOUR HARD EARED MONEY THAT THEY DO NOT DESERVE AND THEY ASK FOR MONEY UPFRONT I SHOULD HAVE LEFT THEN BUT I STAYED OUT OF DESPERATION GO SOMEWHERE ELSE SHE IS VEEERY Rude,nasty,uncleaned,unprofessional is not even a word to describe the lady that all the other braider listen to..she's gonna get someone hurt simply because of her demenor cause I wanted to SLAP ALL THAT NASTY ATTITUDE OUT HER ***..but just couldn't stoop to her level.Braids came out within 3weeks and that **** ask me for more money to fix after paying her 220..she fix once when they came out but wouldnt after the 2nd time they continued to come out and she act as if it was my fault.POINT BLANK *DON'T GO* HORRIBLE SERVICE AND THEY STINK ����ok I'm lying BUT THEY DON'T LIKE AMERICAN WOMEN AND IT SHOOWS..AND THOSE 3 GOOD REVIEWS THAT WAS GOOD, THEY MUSTV PAID YALL TO SAY THOSE THINGS ����..DONT GO SISTAS!✊Also why yelp won't allow you to thumbs up on the comment I tryed to like all bad comments but it wouldn't let me so leave your comment and help someone not make these mistakes as we have already made.hate to give 1 star ����but i have to in order to leave comment and to be helpful .be blessed����

First, let me start off by saying that I am not one to leave horrific reviews on the page of any establishment that I have a bad experience with. I must have a HORRIBLE experience for me to even go to those lengths. I said that to say my experience with this braiding shop was absolutely AWFUL! These ladies have braided/twisted my hair numerous times (at least 4), and I never experience great customer service…however, this most recent experience was the absolute WORST!
First of all, the thickness of my hair has always been mentioned, but has never been a major issue until this most recent experience! After asking to see and feel my natural hair (mind you, this is the 4th or 5th time they have braided my hair), these ladies agreed to do my hair. However, when they were a little past halfway done, the thickness of my hair just became a MAJOR issue for them. The lady who seems to be the head of things by the way that the others answer to her, began the criticism by referring to mine and my sister’s head as “big”…though I knew she meant that we have extremely thick hair. This comment was not funny to me, but I was willing to let it slide. When she continued to make comments as if she was upset, such as “Never again,” she started to upset me. I couldn’t understand the issue being that these ladies have braided my hair before with no problem, and being that they had the opportunity to see and feel my hair before beginning…therefore, they could have politely declined. Being the money hungry people that they are, they didn’t decline…but complained the ENTIRE time they were finishing my head.
Clearly after they realized that I am not one to hold my tongue, they became offended and proceeded hurt my sister as they snatched and pulled at her hair in anger. They continued to speak aggressively in their native language while pointing at our heads, as if they wanted us to know that they were speaking about us. When the “manager” received phone calls from others who were trying to make appointments, she made comments like, “Well, I’m not sure cause we had two BIG heads that took 10 hours.” I have never, EVER being repeatedly degraded and disrespected by someone who wanted and needed my business! I found this to be EXTREMELY upsetting being that I had given these ladies $180 already…yes, they ask for the money before they even begin. So I give you $180 to receive horrible customer service, and be degraded by you? Ha, never again!
Lastly, I was not the only person in the establishment to be talked down to and degraded; I just happened to be the only person to confront them. Services were so bad this day that during the 9-10 hours that I was there, I witnessed 4 people get up and walk out, as they had changed their minds due to horrible customer service.
My advice to you is: Do not spend your hard earned $180-$200 on this establishment. There are WAY too many people out here who can do a great job of braiding my hair WITHOUT the disrespectful remarks, and aggressive behaviors…simple as that. Oh yea, and they won’t stop every 5 minutes to reply to all of their text messages either…
I will NEVER receive services from this unprofessional establishment again; and the only reason they receive one star from me is because my hair always looks nice and neat when they are done…not worth it though.

Pretty Lady African Hair Braiding Salon is magnificent! These ladies make good time and do good work! I went to them only 2 times in a month and my hair is already down to my shoulders. After years of short hair. You have to book early because these ladies stay busy. And they do it all and take great care of your hair. They repair all damages.

I have to commend the African Braiding House for there great work. I always leave loving my braids and ready to schedule my next appointment. This is the only place my sister and I will go to get our hair braided because we don't trust anyone else with the care of our hair. We will definitely continue to come here for more years to come.

Been going here for years its the only place that I will get my hair braided from!!! I'm happy with my hair everytime I leave!

After reading reviews telling me not to go...like an idiot I took my daughter anyway. The worst decision I made and paid for this year. I was deceived by how nice the owner sounded on the phone. The first warning sign is there were no customers at all. The braiding shop down the street had clients in all seats which is why I even ended up at this HOODAMENTARY shop. The second sign is I wanted twists for my daughter and they tried to convince me to get braids because it was faster...really? The last and most insulting thing is after about 2 hours into watching them do my daughters hair, the short chunky one said "you not gone pay me." I replied how many bags of hair will you charge me if you're not done. She became hostile and the other two workers started commenting. I went ahead and paid minus the tip I was prepared to give for taking my daughter on short notice...but now I know why they have no customers.

The kicker and the reason I will never ever patronize this business with my hard earned money is after I paid, they stop doing my daughters hair, stArted talking jibberish amongst themselves while looking at me and then started texting and passing cellphones to look at pictures. My daughter sat in the chair with hair half done looking at me. I was livid! Finally they started again and after they were done, I told my daughter to say thank you and we literally ran out the shop.

What they fail to realize is businesses are built on repeat customers...something I'm sure they don't get. They will never get another $200 of my hard earned money even though the work was decent. The way they talked to me was like I was less than human and beneath their African heritage.

I CAME HERE BELIEVING THESE PEOPLE WERE PROFESSIONAL. WRONG!! FIRST OFF THEY TOOK ME AT MY APPOINTMENT TIME WHICH WAS THE BEST PAET BUT THEYARE SO CONFUSED THEY WORKED ON MY HEAD FOR TWO HOURS AND THEN STOPPED TO START ON SOMEONE ELSE'S BRAIDS. I WAS GETTING KINKY TWISTS WHICH IS NOT A TWO MINUTE HAIRSTYLE. AFTER THEY TOOK MY 200.00 DOLLARS THE SO CALLED OWNER FATU HAD THE NERVE TO ARGUE WITH ME BECAUSE I TOLD HER THEY UNPROFESSIONAL SHE ALMOST GOT SLAPPED... THEY DON'T CARE IF U COME BACK LET HER TELL IT THEY DON'T NEED YOU THEY HAVE CUSTOMERS WHO BEEN COMING FOR 10 YEARS.... IF YOU HAVE SENSE STAY AWAY FROM THIS AREA... YOU BETTER GO TO LALA'S OR HEIDI AND JOJO.... HOT MESS!!!

My braids of course is nice..But the persons doing the braiding is VERY VERY VERY rude and ugly. When I walked in one of the workers just looked at me as if I was an alien. She didn't say good morning how may I assist you or anything. Finally she asked the question after 5 mins and insured that someone will be there shortly to start on my hair. That lady as well did not speak. I told her what and how i wanted my hair.she did the total opposite. When halfway done she stopped and asked for her money(which was not a problem) I gave her 100.00 and told her I would go to the ATM and get the rest. My charge was 180.00 I gave the MANAGER(im guessing) the 80.00 and she starts yelling and cussing @ me saying I owe her 100.00 when clearly I gave the lunatic 100.00 to begin with. She started cussing at me saying I owed her more. I told her to lower her voice b/c I was not yelling or cussing @ her..and she did. They begin to talk about me in their language and was more rude. I would NEVER go back nor recommend this place. So yea when someone ask where I got the Senegalese twist done. I say those rude Africans at greens point mall and I do tell them NOT to go there. I give 2 starts ONLY because I like the twist. Watch out for the lady that wear the hijab on shes the ugliest and rudest one!! imj FYI who you still choose to go there.

My granddaughter can to get her hair done. They were late. She has 2 people working on her hair and it is taking 9 hours and she is not finished yet. She had a card from them and was told to present and she would get 10% off, she she presented it they would not honor. They want you to pay for service before they finish. They are rude. If I am paying for a service I need good customer service as well. I was considering getting my hair braided here, but will not even recommend this business to anyone. I do not understand why the African hair braiders have to be so rude. Went to Lala's last year they are rude also. And they don't honor their prices.

NEVER GOING BACK TO AFRICAN BRAIDING HOUSE IN GREENSPOINT MALL!

The customer service is horrible. I had an appointment for 10am and the stylist walked in late. I said "goodmorning " loud enough for her to hear me and she looked at me and kept walking towards the back of the shop. She came out several minutes later and asked me what color hair I wanted. She showed me 2 different colors and I told her that not what I wanted. She returns to back of the store talking loudly and cursing as if I couldn't hear her. I immediately left. The lady then follows me outside of shop and asks me what my problem is? I ignored her and continue walking. At that point, she could have never talked me into going back. I brought my business to Heidi and Jojo braiding shop where I received EXCELLENT customer service. I WOULD recommend the AFRICAN BRAIDING SHOP in Greenspoint Mall to anyone! You just may get cursed out if you don't like the hair color they have.

I came here and never again will I return or refer n e one to place. The ladies (all of them) were very rude and didn't show great customer service. I drove over an hour to here and I could have stayes in my city and let a boot legger braid my hair......

I will never ever come back to this shop again or refer anyone. This girl name Saturday sewed some hair in my head so tight that I had migraines for two weeks. After a month 1/2 I took it out and the middle of my head was completely bald and soft as a born baby's head. Never again in this lifetime!

This angry person that is trying to bad mouth the shop was probably one of the crooks who wanted to get their hair done for free and did not get away with it, that is why she is so angry. I have been going to this place for the past five years and I am always happy with their service and courtesy. They know what they are doing and by the way they never give anybody a quote until they see the type of hair you have and the type of braids you want. They are professional, talented and they don't put up with crooks. Once again I highly recommend them and I referred all my friends to them and they also referred their friends to the shop.

DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. THE OWNER IS RUDE AND WON'T FIX THEIR PROBLEMS. MY TWISTS FELL OUT AFTER THREE DAYS. THE QUOTED PRICED ON THE PHONE WAS 180. I GET THERE AND ALL OF A SUDDEN IT'S 280! THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS. THE BRAIDER WAS SLOW AND SHE DIDN'T SECURE MY HAIR PROPERLY. IT WAS THE WORSE BRAIDING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE AND I'VE BEEN BRAIDING MY HAIR FOR ALMOST 30 YEARS ON THREE DIFFERENT CONTINENTS!
