Abacus Plumbing and Air Conditioning

Possibly the single worst professional service experience I’ve had. I had I hopes after seeing all the Angie’s list glowing reports but was in for a major disappointment.



First the technician showed up within the last 30 minutes of my “window” to start a water heater installation. This wasn’t a service call at all, it was all hard sell. The first thing out of Mateo’s mouth was some baloney about a membership. Really? I need a membership for a plumber? Is this some Joke?



I feel completely ripped off and taken for the $49 trip fee I was charged. Mateo immediately went for the hard up sell on all the extra work that was required to “bring my unit to code” even though I live in unincorporated Harris County.



His inspection of my home and water heater was woefully inadequate. He immediately said that a roofer was required to vent the heater through the roof. Had he actually inspected the unit instead of just walking around the outside of the house he would have seen that the unit is indeed vented through its own jack to the outside.



All told, this unprofessional technician was trying to bill me $1,600.00 for a simple gas water heater installation. I will never use this company. I will tell everyone I meet to avoid this high pressure sales outfit that is masquerading as a plumbing company.

They were awesome in that they came out fast, that's where it ended. First: their guy tried to get me to pay cash so his boss wouldn't have to know

I was very pleased at his professional help and the way he explained to me what was going on. He is a credit to your company. If we have any more plumbing problems we will call you and ask for “Miguel”.

Thankfully I did not have a water leak—he was able to get good information regarding future work.
