Since 1985, the company has been engaged in the production and exploration of natural gas from coal seams. Its technical staff has developed five large-scale CBM (coalbed methane) projects in the United States. The company also controls methane and oil development rights. GeoMet Inc. controls a 17.3-mile, 12-inch high-pressure steel pipeline, gas treatment and compression facility. The company s operations are subject to significant federal, state, local and Canadian environmental laws and regulations. Additionally, The GeoMet Inc. extracts gas from six coal groups at depths ranging from 700 feet to 3400 feet.
