Northside Animal Hospital

My cat got into a fight with another cat, and the end of her ear became partially torn. I chose Northside because of the proximity to my home and because the two existing reviews were favorable. I called at around 8 AM, and was given a 9:20 appointment. The staff was friendly, but the service was a bit slow; I had to wait quite awhile with my cat in the examination room before the vetrinarian came in. The nurse and vet were good at handling the cat- she remained calm during the examination. I left my cat there for the entire day, and the total cost for treatment of the injury (incl anesthesia and about 4 stitches) was $160, but the total bill was $328 because of the many vaccinations that were given. The vet called the following day to check her condition, which was nice. Because of the lingering effect of the anesthetic, the cat slept the entire day after the surgery, but her ear didn't seem to bother her, so I think they did a good job on the surgery.

I am an animal owner of many decades who has used many vets throughout the USA and abroad. In my opinion NSAH is one of the finest vet facilities around. Drs. Bloomfield and Kroger are superb professionals, up-to-date, dedicated to educating the owners of the animals they treat, devoted to giving the animals they treat the best care at the most reasonable price possible, and extremely experienced. The staff is superb. They work smoothly as a team, and they work very hard. Their loyalty to the vets at NSAH speaks worlds about the professional competency and integrity of the Drs. Bloomfield and Kroger..These two vets show great concern and compassion for the peace and comfort of animals for whom treatment is no longer an option Equally impressive are the efforts made by these two professionals to be current with the advances and changes in the world of vet medicine which evolves as rapidly as any other scientific field. I highly recommend NSAH.

A complete animal hospital providing excellent care for dogs, cats, iguanas, pocket pets and birds. Very friendly and helpful staff. Knowledgeable and caring Doctors. Clean and healthy hospital, exam rooms and animal care areas.

I used this vet for years. And for years my cats were in great health so I never had anything to worry about. But when my thirteen year old siamese stopped eating, Northside ran tests and tests. My cat was loosing weight, couldn't walk straight and became very lethargic. After months of tests a technician called me from the vets office and was asking me questions regarding my cats therapy and also stated that his most recent test had simply confirmed his diagnosis of lymphnode cancer. I was appalled and asked the technician when he was diagnosed and apparently he was diagnosed after his first blood test but I was never informed by the vet! We paid over a thousand dollars on tests and medications to try for him when all along they new what the problem was and never discussed treatment of that with me. I later on had to put my cat down because his body was completely failing him. And, at the time of putting him to sleep, the vet had still not told me of his condition.
