Englese's Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria

Spent $60 on a dinner for two. We left it on the table. Waitress argued with us about the steak being overcooked and unseasoned. Ever had to dig through pasta sauce because the clams and mussels were buried in their shells? Watery pasta sauce so spicy hot you can't taste anything. Obviously frozen lobster tail burnt and tasteless.

Save your money. There. are better and less expensive places to eat. around here.

When we walked in there was no sign of anyone working there so we just sat ourselves. The only people we saw was a party of 4 sitting at another table waiting for their food. After sitting there for 20 minutes and not seeing one person that looked like they worked there we got up and grabbed a menu so we would at least be ready to order when someone showed up. Fifteen minutes later we still had not seen any signs of life. Then a man walked out from the back and looked in our general direction (I'm sure he saw us sitting there waiting). I thought he would tell someone in the back to go out there and take our order. Well, five minutes later we were still sitting there. We finally walked out and went next door to Camino Real and had some great Mexican food. The sign says they are under new management. If this is the way the new management works I don't think they will be in business much longer. By the way, while we were enjoying our Mexican food we noticed (through the windows) the people that had been sitting there before we got there were finally being served their meal.

Due to our disappointing dinner last night we will not be back. Poor service, wilted plain salads & no atmosphere with the BRIGHT lighting. We like supporting our local businesses since we love on the island. However we'll be driving to the OC in Wilmington because we always have a great experience there! Let us know if you make any changes & we'll be happy to give you another try. Sorry...
