Great food, well managed, and exceptionally clean. This place is a natural winner. Located on the hill in downtown Highlands, N.C. Is a perfect place for hungry shoppers. Their Mexican and Americam menu is very popular. Indoor and outdoor dining is available. Having survived in Highlands for over 10 years attests to the quality of both management and the food. I have never seen a sanitation rating over 100 and they earned a whopping 102. I'm impressed. I watched the staff wash their hands after every task. Cleanliness is job one. Ordering you food is similar to Subway. You watch every step of the way and select just what you want. The ingredients are always fresh and always refrigerated until ready to use. The Toco Salad is my favorite. The toco shell has a very nice flavor and there is never an extra charge for sauces or sour cream toppings. This place typifies the Classiness that Highlands is known for. ChefLars gladly gives 4stars and $ rating.
