Mercy Health-Harrison Medical Center

I've been to this hospital only twice and will never go back. I live 2 miles from here and will still drive all the way to Mercy West to see a doctor. The first time I went here my throat was so swollen I could hardly breath and i couldn't swallow. They made fun of me and practically called me a crybaby because I went to the emergency room for it rather than my PC doctor but when I'm having a hard time breathing I see it fit to call it an emergency. He only did one test on me and that was a strep test and it was negative so he immediately assumed I would be ok rather than running other tests. I suffered for 3 weeks because I didn't get any treatment for it. I couldn't eat and became a little dehydrated because it was so hard to drink. The 2nd time I went it was because I was hit in the face and wanted to make sure there was no severe damage. The amount of pain I was in is indescribable. When I got there there was only 4 people there and they told me it would be a 5 hour wait. They repeated it 4 or 5 times making it seem like they didn't even want me to be there. I explained to her the severity of my emergency and the receptionist told me it doesn't matter what kind of emergency I have, unless I'm dying I'll have to wait. I drove all the way to mercy west and found out that the whole side of my face is shattered, my nose is broken, and that I could all motor function in my eye. My eye was bleeding on the inside and that they were surprised the bones hadn't punctured my sinus cavity which could have caused hemmoraging. They told me that I would have to have reconstructive facial surgery as soon as possible and that it is ridiculous that a hospital that shares a name with them would practically shoo me away and claim that my emergency wasn't severe enough to expedite being seen. I am in no way saying something wasn't medically wrong with anyone else in that ER but they were laughing and moving around acting pretty ok to me. I will always go to Mercy West because they always take care of my issue and they do it with the beat kindness and the upmost respect. This place fails in the Emergency department.

This place is absolutely terrible. They have misdiagnosed us every time we have went there. They sent me home when I had 3 broken bones in my vertabrae, a blood clot on my brain, and several torn vessels in my eye. They sewed my grandmother's toenail back on whenever it fell off (seriously, who does that?), and they sent my poor 22 month home with what they diagnosed as an "earache," when turns out he had a condition called herpangina, which are painful sores in the back of the throat. I seriously don't know how this place stays open. Something needs to be done. DO NOT GO HERE!!

Monday my mother was diagnosed with a severe case of shingles on her face. The Thursday before she went to this office seeking help. I have never hear of a more observed office. These people insulted and humiliated my mother. Dr Givens asked her four times what street drugs she was taking and refused to take any test to help my mother. My mother doesn't take drugs and she wasn't asking for drugs she was asking for help. Monday Good Sam immediately diagnosed her with Shingles of the eye and stayed treatment that day. Shingles is an extremely painful condition and the doctors and nurses sent my mother home in tears. She suffered for four days because of their not only unprofessional behavior and regard toward my mother but they failed to diagnose this extremely severe and contagious Condition. Needless to say my family had already called a lawyer and I can't wait to meet you heartless people in person. See you in court.
