China Lotus

The food has been good each time I have ordered or dined in. As far as service...i can't complain about the staff but as far as the owner that's different. I didn't appreciate having to wait for an extensive period of time to check out while she explained how complex ballroom dancing is...if that is her passion then maybe that's the business she should be in!! Also..the way she came off when she did speak to me was very cocky and arrogant. I don't see her being able to connect with her customers !!! For me the food is not worth the continued rudeness!!

China Lotus is the best in Chinese cousin in the entire south. Absolutely the best and freshest. It will leave your tastebuds begging for more!

I have dined at China Lotus on several occasions and have been extremely satisfied each time. I can't say enough about the freshness of the food and exceptional taste. I have tried several dishes and enjoyed each one. The staff were very courteous and gave fantastic service. The owner was there each time and made you feel welcomed and like family. I recommend the China Lotus to all my friends and family and guarantee they will not be dissappointed. It is deffinitely not like those buffet restaurants where the food sits out all day and I came down with food poisoning at a buffet restaurant. Ms Chang's restaurant is a great asset to the Hammond community.

I had a lunch entree that was not to my taste and asked for a discount. I recieved a $3 discount and went to pay my bill. When I reached the register I was greeted by the restaurant owner who proceeded to teach me how to order food on her menu, then explained that money was lost due to the preperation of the food and the food cost itself. I then asked if she was the manager, which is when she informed me that she was the owner of the restaraunt for 20 years. Due to her rude behavior I told her I would no be dining at her restaraunt anymore due to the lack of customer service. She proceeded to inform me that she did not need my business and continued to state that she would never serve me the same dish in the future otherwise. Overall the waitress was kind but the owner was awful. I was scolded by a woman of age because I paid $6 for a dish that I had eaten a couple of bites. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.
