"Yiliam Castillo, M.D., specializes in internal medicine. She holds certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Life Support as well as Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, ECFMG Certification. Dr. Castillo completed an internal medicine residency at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, New York, in 2020. She earned her medical degree from the Calixto Garcia School of Medicine of the Institute of Medical Sciences in Havana, Cuba, in 2007. Prior to her residency, Dr. Castillo served as a patient aide in Louisville, Kentucky. She practiced as a general physician in Arismendi, Venezuela, from 2010 to 2012 and at the Bernardo Posse Care Center in Havana, Cuba, from 2007 to 2010. Dr. Castillo’s posters and presentations include, “Foley Removal after 24 hours downgraded from ICU/CCU,” 2020; “Prophylactic use of PPI/ H2B in the hospital,” 2019; and “Discontinuation PPI/H2B on discharge,” 2018, QI Project, St John’s Episcopal Hospital, South Shore, New York; “Breast self-examination” oral presentation at Scientific Workshop, Arismendi, Venezuela, 2011; and “Using the computer in the study of radiologic anatomy of the skeleton,” oral presentation at Scientific Workshop, Holguin, Cuba, 2003. Dr. Castillo is a member of the American Medical Association, AMA, and the American College of Physicians, ACP. She enjoys visiting a rock-climbing gym, socializing with family and friends, and watching TV series and movies."
