Plantar Fasciitis
Recently, a non-surgical alternative modality called Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) gained the Food and Drug Administration’s approval for treatment of recalcitrant plantar fasciitis. This technology has been around for over 20 years for treatment of kidney stones. It is a non-surgical, non-invasive alternative for chronic heel pain sufferers who have failed to improve after an extended period of conservative therapy.

Dr. Groysman completed his 3-year surgical residency training at Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, New Jersey where he held the position of chief resident. Dr. Groysman has had extensive training in foot and ankle trauma, limb salvage, forefoot, rearfoot and minimal invasive surgery. He is Board Qualified in surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He holds certifications in total ankle replacement, foot reconstructive surgery and arthroscopy.

Hammertoe is a deformity of the second, third, fourth or fifth toes. In this condition, the toe is bent at the middle joint, resembling a hammer. Untreated hammertoes can become inflexible & require surgery. People with hammertoe may have corns or calluses on the top of the middle joint of the toe or on the tip of the toe. Hammertoes may cause pain in toes or feet.

Bunions are due primarily to genetic factors, but can become painful over time due to trauma, ill-fitting shoes and poor foot structure. The bone connected to the big toe starts to drift outward pushing the big toe sideways into the other toes which can also lead to painful hammertoes, corns & calluses. Untreated bunions not only can become painful, but can become progressively worse. Wider shoes, padding & custom orthotics may slow down this progression, surgery is the only way to correct the bunion deformity.

Physical Therapy
Tendon Injury Treatment includes: resting the leg, cold compression therapy, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication, physical therapy, heel lift and using of a brace or cast to keep the heel and tendon still. Fungal foot infections. They can create major discomfort and even embarrassment. They are also EXTREMELY COMMON; affecting millions of people each year. Additionally, fungus is easily spread. Individuals with fungus may have contracted it through shared bathroom space, public locker rooms, showers, and pools, shared clothing or shoes, even carpeting. For some, fungus is simply genetic.
