New York syle Chinese food, really? The food is good and fast.

I often find myself sampling much chinese/asian food from buffets to NY style take out, which this place would fall into the category of NY style take-out with a few seats to eat at. I rate this kind of restaurant by quite a few factors. Things such as customer service, cleanliness, accuracy of order, quality and quantity of food vs. the price, and specialized to this brand of service, to-go packaging. Let's start from the top with customer service. I ordered dinner one evening and was not in the mood for wonton soup which came with the dinner, so I said no thanks to the soup and they quickly offered to give me another egg roll in place of the soup, note I didn't have to ask, they just kindly offered. Next on the list is Cleanliness. While there were no messes, the counter tops could use a wipe down, and the bathroom was usable though perhaps not recommended to the finicky. Accuracy of order is up next, not too hard to mess these up, but then again, McYou-know-who's seems to flunk this category regularly for me so it is important to me, these guys scored an A+ here so far. Quality and quantity of Food vs. the price; I think the important part here is what time of day you are ordering and if you take advantage of the lunch specials. If you order at night time the portion is pretty much the same as lunch but the price almost doubles at the benefit of getting an eggroll and a cup of soup which doesn't come with lunch. Moving quickly to not discredit any of the prices, I would pay dinner prices regularly for the food and the lunch specials are astounding simply because the quality of food I have been getting is great, not too greasy, seems well prepared, always the right tempurature. (cold things cold, hot things hot) I would have to say the only place I get consistantly better asian food is in a sit-down restaurant where you have to buy the drink seperately and leave a generous tip. To finish up any queries about just how much food you get, I consider myself a heavy eater and one portion from this place at lunch time is enough to fill me to the point of almost being sick. Definately more food here then a double-quarter pounder large sized. Lastly I will comment on the way they package the to-go food, at dinner time they pack it up nice and tight in a plastic tupperware microwave safe dish that after letting it sit for approximately one hour, the food inside is still hot. I love this because I don't feel rushed to try and eat it because some food that sits that long is just plain awful, soggy fries anyone? In closing, I feel that if you are looking for a good alternative to a "meal in a sack" this place has what it takes to replace that hands down.
