Grosse Pointe Computer

I have had good experiences with Grosse Pointe Computer. He is patient and gives excellent advice along with the repair. Being a small business, he cannot offer the extended hours a larger business could, but I find the quality of service excellent and price competitive. I prefer to use a local business than to travel to a larger store for less personal service.

I brought my computer into Grosse Pointe Computer repair to get a virus cleared up and I was told it would be $90-$110 and it would be ready in about a week. I waited ten days and had not heard anything so I started calling and go no answer until I called their fax number by mistake. I finally got the owner on the phone who said he had been sick and had got behind. He said he would have it that Wednesday or Thursday. I called that Thursday evening and he said that it was still not ready, it would be ready Friday after 4pm. I went in there to pick it up Friday and he said it was still not ready and he would have it done Saturday by 11. My husband went in at 11 and it was still not done. He told him to come back at 1. My husband went back at 1. Still not ready. Finally after my husband saying he was going to stay there until it was done we got it back at 2pm that day. And it was $130 we were charged. When my husband got it home we realized that the battery was missing. He had to go back up there to get the battery. THEN I was not even on my laptop for an hour when a thing popped up and said that "your computer is still infected with a virus". It is slower than it has ever been and now apparently I still have a virus on it. My father in law warned us of this place before we went there but thought we would give it a shot because it was conveniently located. NOT WORTH IT. 16 days, $130 and plenty of frustration later all I have is a laptop that still has a virus on it and runs slower than it ever did before. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It was a joke. I am too frustrated to even take it back there and demand they fix it.
