        Forced to stay in the area for...

        Forced to stay in the area for 2 months, the reason I initially chose the motel was price. $45-$50 a night; $240 weekly or $680 monthly (tax included), if paid in advance; & it's proximity to the hospital we were using. Conveniently located near the WB Epwy. in an established, quiet neighborhood; this motel is also within walking distance to various stores, restaurants & other businesses. There are many families with children living here,

        who make frequent use of the swimming pool when not in school.

        FREE WI-FI is available, but only works in or near the office due to outdated, inefficient equipment. The most UNprofessionally managed motel I have ever stayed in, & I have traveled extensively in the past 50 years. Customer satisfaction &/or good management skills are not the owner's concerns. Workers are not treated well or fairly, and earn very little...which explained WHY the rooms & property remains so dirty compared to most others in the same price range.

        Rooms are very dirty, but housekeepers are friendly & speak English; and will do the basics & more, if asked. They will also give you supplies (if asked) should you want to clean the room yourself. It took me 6 hours to clean our 2 rooms from the bathroom to the bedroom. Doors, knobs, switches, mirrors, chairs, tables, dresser, microwave, refrigerator, headboards, air conditioner/heating unit, windows & sills, baseboards, lamps and even the walls were extremely dirty. According to a few of the housekeepers, they are also paying guests at the motel, whom the owner pays $3.00 for each room they clean per day.



        The maintenance man is a fast-talking, shifty-eyed foreigner whom never finishes one job before starting 17 others. Tools & equipment are regularly left lying around while he runs from area to area, seemingly as if he is trying to determine what to do first &/or how to do it. I'm not yet sure if this is funny or sad. He has a master key to all rooms & has been seen coming in & out of rooms where no repairs were being made, and later reports were made of guests missing food & other items from their rooms. He also resides at the property & frequently disappears for hours during the day before finishing jobs he began. A 2nd (non-resident) has been hired & now the light bulbs & broken locks, etc. are being replaced in few minutes instead of waiting for hours or days.



        The BEST thing about this motel is a desk clerk named JILL. She is professional, very personable, extremely helpful & even protective of the guests. I observe her going 'above & beyond' on a regular basis. SHE is definitely the glue that's holding this place together!



        The owner could have a really nice place here, IF he would just clean & brighten it up a bit; properly maintain it & hire a few more people like JILL. Without HER here, this place will end up being a nasty little haven for local drug users, dealers & prostitutes; because most people don't want to stay in dirty, smelly motels that are poorly managed.
