Provided by SuperpagesAlthough a "unique" place to eat, we were not impressed by several things: 1. The difficulty entering with no availability for handicap walking equipment 2. The difficulty walking through the kitchen and front entrance area to get to seating. 3. The preparation of the "soaked salty salad" which was prepared in an unsanitary manner, such as, lettuce being removed from package with ungloved hands and onion rings placed on salad also with bare hands.,; never seeing the person that prepared salads wash her hands & she was handling refrigerator door, going in her apron pocket to get out small scissors to cut open package of lettuce, & observed her hands touching her face. Waitresses bare-handled bread to serve, too. Steaks- very good; fries - dripping in oil (on the plate, too). And, the cleanliness is rated poor with Windows heavily coated inside of cobwebs & dust--could not have been cleaned in years!!!!

Provided by Superpagespeople who know food are always looking for a unique atmosphere where the locals go to get great food, and Does is it. I am from New Orleans where the best restaurants sometimes dont have white tablecloths and Does is exactly what we look for. Get the filet mignon, medium rare for $40. It is cooked to perfection and so tender you can cut the 2 inch thick steak with a fork. It must be aged beef. Tastes as good as the old Smith & Wolenskys or Ruths Chris. Love the charm: rough neighborhood, enter through the kitchen. Commanders Palace has a table in the kitchen only for VIP diners, so to see the kitchen is a great feature. Does will make a great memory for you, and we should all be considered lucky to have the opportunity to experience this history.
