Montana School for Deaf and Blind Children is a state-supported special purpose school that serves as a technical center for the education of deaf and blind children. Its campus-based education programs serve more than 75 students in grades preschool through the 12. It offers services of various professionals that include psychologist, physical and occupational therapist, orientation and mobility instructor, audiologist and speech pathologists. The students receive instruction in language arts, reading, science, math, social studies, and health enhancement. It also offers classes in art, music and various vocational courses. The school uses various educational tools for blind and partially sighted students, such as computer technology, instruction in braille, use of low vision aids, and orientation and mobility. Classes in braille, including literary and nemeth codes, life skills, vocational skills, communication, abacus and other math accommodations, tactual learning and technology are offered to the blind students. The school is located in Great Falls, Mont.
