Moody Tax and Accounting and Property Management

I am so relieved to have a new property manager. More gets done, and done correctly! I don't have to wait for repairs.

This experience was in late 2017. I applied for an duplex in Grand Haven with this property manager. I applied, had credit run, and I was told I was approved then ready to sign a lease and given the deadline for a deposit. He called my current landlord who gave a favorable review. I explained the code violations and insecure dwelling on the landlord before that, and proof it was wrongful eviction by retaliation. He knew all this and I was still approved. The ad said the garage was shared use, and they told me that I cannot use the garage. I contacted the city and told them that with two tenants they need four spots, and its not legal to keep the garage off limits if there is not a second spot for a vehicle in winter. City said no street park in winter!
Then, I was told I was no longer available. They kept my application fee, and I think there was a Fair Housing Issue going on with me being a single mother, two small children. I know that people get nervous about eviction history, but I think they passed on me because of the kids and thinking me a ¨troublemaker.¨ I´m a trouble maker because you would not fix it so I can lock my door for two months? Keep in mind this prior eviction landlord´s office manager (not Jeff) was caught stealing a payroll check sent to me in the mail and cashing it, so I am on the level with my rental history. Don´t single me out based on. The house stayed vacant for a month, then he rented to a single nurse, I know because my neighbor down street kept tabs on them. And if the landlord made the bad call, he probably should have communicated that. Hope that landlord making decision is documented, for his sake. If you want a recipe for a Fair Housing or Credit Reporting claim, Jeff Moody is the man for you! I´m probably doing him a favor posting this, so every scumbag landlord, who wants to violate the law and wants passive tenants that take this kind of abuse with no lawyer, will come running and screaming to his doorstep begging for service.
