CWJC of Granbury site coordinators network with area social service agencies, health care providers, businesses and educators. Together, they maximize area resources to benefit women and families in need of assistance.Thousands of women have found hope for their future through Christian Women's Job Corps, a growing international program that operates as a ministry of Women's Missionary Union ( WMU ).Christian Women's Job Corps of Granbury, Inc ( CWJC ) began as a vision from Carol Seay, Executive Director, to help women in need in our community to go from dependency to self-sufficiency by obtaining life and job skills. In November 2001, four women attended CWJC National Certification Training to become certified Site Coordinators, which is required to establish a CWJC site.Over the next 21 months, these women and a small group of leaders met regularly to develop and plan a customized CWJC program that would meet the specific needs of women in Hood County.CWJC of Granbury has based its organizational structure on a successful national model. Although each CWJC site is autonomous, they share a common purpose helping women to meet their dreams of independence from poverty and welfare and other unfortunate circumstances.CWJC of Granbury is operated by a volunteer Board of Directors, Executive Director, trained Site Coordinators and a dedicated group of multi-talented volunteers. It is a non-profit, interdenominational ministry.Women in need widows, divorcees, single mothers with children, women with disabilities, abused women, women in poverty and women recovering from substance abuse. These are some of the women helped by CWJC.
