The school needs a stronger more supportive administration and teachers who actually care about the children. The majority of the teachers are unskilled and have no idea how to reach out to and actually TEACH children..there is poor classroom management and little actual teaching going on and more babysitting troublemakers. My child has had four teachers, 2 quit and 2 got fired in one school year!!! There is many bullies who are not dealt with... my child has had teeth knocked out and a lump in his head then was punished for fighting back. This school is to say it plainly --- ghetto. Beware...you've been warned!!!

This is a great school. If you're looking for a welcoming environment, with an individual focus, small classes and high parental involvement, then this is an ideal setting. My son did exceptionally well on the SAT10 assessment this year, scoring better than 79% of the students in the nation, which was a marked improvement over his performance last year at a different school. I love the small groups and one on one attention he and other students get here. The have figured out his learning style and focus on it throughout the day. As for the donations, they are just that. You give them or you don't. All schools fundraise or ask for support in different ways. I can definitely see that the school reinvests directly in the students and the high-quality education provided here. This is not a school you would want to attend if you're not going to be involved or not going to volunteer.

My child attends this school. I have to say, I really love my child's teacher - and the administrative staff for the most part. I am happy with the education my child is receiving. The reason for only 3 stars is how hard they hit the parents up for money. As soon as you register, they pretty much demand a "donation" of $500. They said they "expected" it. Last time I checked, charter schools are not allowed to charge fees! If I could have afforded to pay fees, I would have put my child in a private school! I wouldn't have minded being nicely asked to give a donation if I was able to, but demanding it is another story.
I know they only get part of their money from the state, but they could have more fundraisers and try to raise money other ways. I have several friends with kids in local charter schools, and none of the parents have had those schools demand money like this one does. They must have more effective (and less stressful on the parents) ways to raise money for their schools.
