Sciatica
Back pain and sciatica differ but are often confused with each other. Back pain is specific to the upper, mid, or low back. Sciatica is a more diffuse, radiating pain down the buttock, thigh, and even leg. It is also possible to have radiculopathy, which is a radiating numbness, tingling, burning, or sharp pain to a specific part of the leg. This is often associated with a herniated disc, or entrapment of the nerve of that area, as it exits the spine.
Whiplash
Head and back injuries from a car wreck are typically the most serious. Head injuries can lead to vision problems, skull fractures, and concussions. With a concussion, you may experience dizziness and headaches. Another common car accident injury is a herniated disk. Neck and chest injuries are also common, with whiplash being the most common accident injury.
Arthroscopy
In some cases, home remedies can be used to treat TMJ dysfunction. Some people respond well to over-the-counter pain relievers, such as Ibuprofen or Aspirin. Applying ice packs directly to the jaw joint can also help relieve pain. You may also find temporary relief through sedative essential oils, such as clary sage or lavender. When home remedies donâ€™t work at providing long-term relief, temporomandibular joint dyfunction therapies may be necessary. Stronger muscle relaxers or anti-inflammatory medications may be prescribed to manage pain. A jaw specialist may also use a dental splint to keep teeth properly aligned and prevent tooth grinding. Other types of medical treatment include trigger point acupuncture, joint replacement, or a TMJ arthroscopy.

If you have already received total joint replacement surgery, it is likely that your primary physician will refer you to a physical therapist for part of your recovery treatment.

Frozen Shoulder
Also known as â€œadhesive capsulitis,â€ frozen shoulder can occur if your arm has been in a cast or sling for a while, or if you have been bedridden for an extended period of time. Furthermore, there are some ethnicities that are more predisposed, and women tend to have more instances than men. It is more common in women in the 40-60 years of age. Frozen shoulder results in a painful loss of motion in the shoulder with a tightening of the shoulder joint that severely limits motion.

Tennis elbow refers to pain on the lateral or outside aspect of the elbow, whereas golferâ€™s elbow refers to pain on the medial or inside aspect of the elbow. Both of these injuries are a result of repetitive use injuries and can be attributed to a variety of different tasks, not just the sports they are named after. Physical therapy is the best treatment for either of these conditions, because it restores the underlying joint and soft tissue limitations, that are causing strain to the tendons, and reduces the inflammation quite rapidly.

Exercise is also helpful in decreasing a patientâ€™s risk of falling increasing their overall mobility. Common geriatric exercises include walking, stretching, light weight lifting, and aquatic therapy.
Manual Therapy
The Graston technique is a form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM). It is a type of manual therapy that incorporates special ergonomic tools, such as a Graston tool, that are used to gently massage and scrape parts of the skin. The Graston tool is a stainless steel instrument used to heal injuries to soft tissues, such as sprains, strains, subluxations, and repetitive use injuries.
TMJ Dysfunction
The temporomandibular joint connects your jaw to your skull. If there is an injury to this joint or it becomes damaged in any way, TMJ dysfunction may develop. Temporomandibular joint dysfunction, also known as TMJ dysfunction, is a condition that causes pain and stiffness of the jaw joint and its surrounding muscles. The temporomandibular joint is a complex and important structure composed of bones, tendons, and muscles that may cause you to feel pain on one or both sides of the jaw. This can make it very difficult to open your mouth, talk, yawn, and chew.

Mulligan Technique can be used to treat a large amount of acute and chronic conditions, from an ankle sprain to chronic joint pain. However, much like when considering the application of any other concept, a thorough evaluation of the patient must be completed first.
Bunions Problems
Flat Feet
Your foot contains several tendons that work together to form your arch. When the tendons pull together properly, your foot will form a proper arch. However, when the tendons do not pull together properly, your foot will form a very small arch or no arch at all. This is referred to as â€œfallen archâ€ or â€œflat footâ€ and can cause pain or discomfort with time.
Heel Spurs
This is a bony protrusion on the heel that is usually made of some sort of calcium build-up. While the actual spurs are not painful they can poke the tissues in the heel and potentially cause severe pain. Many of the same risk factors that cause plantar fasciitis can also cause heel spurs.
