The owner of TNT Cycles (Tim - a one man army business) worked on my motorcycle a few times this past year and always did a great job. However, just recently my bike was in an accident and that the other party was at fault. Estimated damage came in around $1300, which the other party's insurance company cut me a check upfront. So, I went to TNT cycles to get it fixed. Although I was surprised that Tim needed the money upfront to order parts and to start work, I thought that's how he does business when handling insurance claims. Normally, any legitimate business would do the work first and you pay after. Considering Tim did good work in the past and trustworthy I said okay. However, in the back of my mind a red flag was up when he asked for the money first.
At any rate, he kept my bike for 37 days due to back order of parts while I had a car rental. To make a long story short, I paid for the rental assuming to be reimbursed by the other party's insurance, but got the short end of stick because the insurance company needs evidence from Tim to show when he ordered the parts and when he received them to justify the 37 days. With that information, the insurance company will then reimburse me the $1791. After many attempts calling Tim for the information (and he still has not given me a receipt of the work he did) TNT Cycles appeared to have shut their doors or have gone out of business. His shop is still there with the TNT Cycle sign, but it's always closed.
On December 18th, I stopped at TNT Cycles and was fortunate to have caught the owner (Tim) in his truck parked near his shop. We discussed the matter at hand and he said he was going to call the insurance to provide the information. It's now December 26 since this review and TNT Cycles still has not provided the information to Infinity. This is very frustrating that TNT Cycles is holding information I need so I can be reimbursed by the insurance company. I have a feeling that the owner is in financial dire and may have committed some kind of insurance fraud since he has not provided me a receipt of the work he has done on my bike or the necessary documentation to show why he kept the bike for 37 days, and from my last discussion with him (Dec 26) he has not respond to any of my calls, the claim adjuster calls and my insurance agent calls. I highly recommend NOT to take your motorcycle for any repairs, especially if it's related to an insurance claim, to TNT Cycles.
