Gallia County Animal Shelter

All of the reviews below are based on a false Facebook page that actually was caught stealing dogs in the county. They're not factual in any way, and need removed. The dog warden and assistant warden at the time were both cleared of any charges. Regardless of what these people thought, the shelter is now run by an entirely new staff anyways. They do a wonderful job, and deserve to be commended for everything they put up with. It's a thankless job, but not from me. Thank you!

This is the shelter where the warden "got into the zone" when he was killing a dog and decided to kill all of them. Even the ones that had already been adopted. By sticking a needle into the dogs' hearts and lungs multiple times. This man is a psychopath who enjoyed torturing these dogs to death. The fact that he was found "not guilty" just means that there is a political machine operating there and people are afraid to stop him. DO NOT TAKE AN ANIMAL TO THIS PLACE. DON"T GIVE THIS MAN ANY MORE LIVES TO DESTROY.

Are the monsters who beat dogs to death still employed at this death camp? Because if they are, people need to keep a close eye on them, so they don't exact revenge by killing more beautiful babies. They need to have psychiatric evaluations, because anyone capable of what they did is capable of doing far worse, and not just to animals but people too. They do NOT need to be anywhere near those dogs.

Are these the people who are being investigated for beating dogs to death and other horrible methods of "euthanasia"? I would think twice before taking any animal to this "shelter". And adopt one from here as soon as possible to escape a grisly death.

your page could use some pictures and when an alternate number is given to reach someone from the shelter, there should always be an answer on that number, especially when its a cell phone number. also, hours of operation would be nice.
