Overall

Extremely poor workmanship.

Extremely poor customer service.

Expect no replies from the corporate office.

Today I received a call from Maaco informing me that my car is ready for pickup. Upon inspection of the car I noticed that I probably could had done a better job with a can of spray paint. The car surface was filled with bumps, bubbles and dried up paint runnings; the surface also had a large area that was filled with patterns from the technician's clothes touching the wet paint. The side markers on the car that were removed were never reinstalled. The front bumper and the wheel well plastic lining over there front right wheel was not installed correctly. To make matters much worse when I spoke to the owner Mr Farzad I was told that's thats is the standard for the inexpensive paint package that I chose. Mr. Farzad showed no remorse and simply told me to leave the car and he'll figure something out next week. When I asked him to please give me an estimated time of completion he simply replied I don't know I will call you next week when the car is ready.

In good conscience I could not recommend this Maaco to anyone.

Thank you,

NZ

PS. It has been three weeks since I give my car to Maaco, and the work promised has not been delivered. I filed a complaint with the corporate office and wrote them several times but I haven’t heard anything back yet. This morning I heard back from the owner of the shop and I was told that I must come to pick may car up before this weekend and pay in full for the job that I do not find satisfactory; if my car is not picked up by the next 2 days I will be charged an additional $50 daily for storing my car.

Overall
Terrible experience

I can't stress enough that I would give this Maaco location 0 stars if I could.

I am a full-time graduate student, I work and intern part-time as well. Anyone with a crazy schedule like mine knows how difficult it can be to take on the task of giving up your vehicle for a week. Nonetheless, my paint was coming off so bad, I knew I had to get my car painted.

So I flipped my life upside down (even had to ask a friend to borrow her car cause I can't afford to pay for a rental for the week, in addition to the cost of painting my car) all so I could get this done. About a week and a half ago I spoke with the receptionist at this Maaco location. She told me to bring the car first thing (8am) this Monday morning. This first thing I asked was, "are you sure you'll be open? It's Memorial Day that day." She assured me yes, they would be open and to make sure I get the car there ASAP so they can get working on it right away. I said, "ok that's great! Do you need anything else from me at this point?" She said no, just to c'mon in Monday morning.

So, I did just that. In fact, I got there (30min from my house btw) just before 8am.

No one was there. I was waited, thinking that maybe they were just running a bit late, after all, it was a holiday. Nope.

After waiting for 35min and leaving 2 voicemails on their phone, I was understandably upset, but decided to leave the car and place my keys in the drop box. I wasn't sure what else to do - I needed my car painted and this was the only week I could do it!

So I waited until today at 8am and called them. I make it a point not to yell or curse when I get upset because A) that tarnishes my integrity and B) that will almost guarantee this convo will end in a huge argument that helps no one.

In a firm tone, I asked that same receptionist what happened? I did as you instructed me and no one was there!? Her response? An extremely insincere "sorry. We were gonna stay open that day, but then we decided not to. I don't know what to tell you. I already said sorry, I mean it's in the past."

I'm not even kidding you - that was her response. She knew she told a customer to come in that day and that I would basically be sitting there waiting for no one.

I was absolutely flabbergasted at her rude attitude and total disrespect for my time. I asked to speak to the manager who proceeded to treat me even worse. I told him what had happened and how rude the receptionist was treating me. He was totally uninterested and didn't even really acknowledge my complaints, he just said "it's fine, we'll get it done by Thursday." My response was "I'm your customer. I'm giving you MY hard earned money and you guys don't even have the decency to take responsibility for your mistake." To which he responded "you haven't given me any money yet."

That was the final straw. I told him he was "absolutely right. A smart business plan would involve keeping customers happy so that they DO give you their money. But clearly you don't want my money, so I'll be taking my car to the Jessup Maaco branch instead."

Before he hung up on me, he said "ok that's fine - I own that shop too, so I'll give them a call and tell them to take good care of you."

After speaking to the Jessup branch, they assured me that was a lie.

I had to drive another 30min back to Gaithersburg, pick up my car, drive it 40min to the Laurel Maaco (nothing against Jessup, they just couldn't get it painted in the time frame I needed) then drive another 40min home. So much of my time, gas, and energy spent and now my paint job is going to take longer than I had planned my week around.

So yeah - I would highly recommend never using this shop. I'm just glad I'm giving my money to decent people now.

Overall

Got what I paid for. Rear bumper was repainted and has a run. Front fender was replaced and plastic pieces were not put back on correctly. Battery was dead when I picked it up. Rubber seals around the hatch were not put on correctly so the hatch did not close properly and the battery died while it sat. The rear cargo light drained the battery. Tape was still wrapped around the tail pipe. Looks great if you don't look at it closely or pay attention to details.

I took my food truck in to get it painted and Farzad, the owner was more than helpful in giving me ideas about how to achieve what I wanted. His pricing, timing and attention to detail was amazing. I would highly recommend His Maaco shop on Beechcraft to any of my friends.

Thanks Farzad!

There are not enough adjectives to describe Farzad and his staff. They did an awesome in fixing a not-so-good mess

from another Maaco (it was out of state).

5 Stars is not enough. . . there should be 10! They are AWESOME!!!
