Genie Beasley, MD, attended medical school and completed her pediatric residency and pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Florida in Gainesville. She was the recipient of the Pediatric Resident Teacher of the Year Award in 2009, 2010 and 2019. Dr. Beasley is board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology by the American Board of Pediatrics and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine. She manages the UF Health Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program, which is a multidisciplinary practice that provides patients and families access to multiple resources at one visit. Dr. Beasley and her team offer advanced procedures, such as wireless capsule endoscopy, MRI enteroscopy, genetic testing and upper and lower endoscopy. Dr. Beasley oversees the pediatric liver transplant program at UF Health and is the leader of the division of pediatric gastroenterology's quality improvement initiative, through participation in the Improve Care Now program. Dr. Beasley serves as the director of the pediatric gastroenterology fellowship program, and she is the clerkship director for the medical student pediatric acting internship course. Dr. Beasley is a member of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America and the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology. Her clinical interests include pediatric nutrition and inflammatory bowel disease.
