I brought my daughter here for their adolescent program. She wasn't suicidal, just depressed as our family went through a lot. They tried to keep her in the program much longer than was needed. She was doing well at home and at school after 2 weeks and what was making her miserable was staying in the program. I found out from a few parents who have children that go to my daughter's school that did the program that they keep kids as long as they can based on the insurance they have, not based on treatment needs! I also found out that the program is usually supposed to be for about 2 weeks with insurance, but kids were in there for almost 2 months! My daughter was and has been fine since leaving the program awhile ago and is in outpatient therapy where I should have taken her in the 1st place. Find another program or make sure you take your kids out as soon as you can!

If you need help, go to your d...

If you need help, go to your doctor. If he or she suggests this place? Find a new doctor. I was referred here by my doctor because I was wanting to commit suicide. This place took me in for an evaluation which led to a short stay in West Oaks. After that I was told to come back here. After going through some paper work, I was put into the PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program). Basically it is group therapy from 9am to 3pm. Which for me, was not all that bad. The problem with this program is one, I dont feel that the counselors really give a crap about the people in there. They rush through everything and dont really take any time with people to find out why they are really there. Second, I can read books about depression at home. This place is by no means cheap, even with my good insurance, it was wicked expensive. And dont think that they will give you a price upfront, because they will not. Their billing people suck. They cant ever keep up with what you have paid already. On the plus side, the woman that does all contact with your insurance company, is an AWESOME woman. She fought for me. Her and one other person in this place full of people, were the only ones who I felt cared. The second person was the nurse. She was a spunky woman with an attitude like she cared how you were feeling that day. And the next day. I honestly wish we had her for our counselor. You will see a psychiatrist while you are here. But dont think you are going to have anymore than five minutes to speak with him after your initial time. There are days you wont see him even though you are supposed to. And you cant see an outside therapist or psychiatrist while you are here, because then this place cant bill you for not really seeing the doc in the first place. Another issue is that they tell you the day of your discharge that you are being discharged. No notice, whatsoever. You walk in and they are like... Hey its your last day! Are you ready to go? You might say no, but they dont care, they want money. And if you are too broke to pay their insane price, it is an oh well that you will receive. The only thing I am grateful for, is the people I met inside therapy. To those people, you rocked. Thanks for listening, since the counselors did not.
