General Info
The Nishi no Kaze Dojo (Dojo of the Western Wind) is a martial arts school in Fresno, California. We are an official Nami ryu Aiki Heiho dojo under James Williams Sensei of Encinitas, California. Williams Sensei is one of the top proponents in the world of Japanese sword and unarmed combat arts. Instructor Randy George Sensei has over 30 years of martial arts experience, including karate, jujutsu and aikido. He was a live-in student (uchideshi) of Patricia Hendricks Sensei, 6th Dan Aikido, and trained in Japan. Randy has trained exclusively under Williams Sensei since 2008.Nami ryu Aiki Heiho is based on Japanese sword arts (kenjutsu, iaijutsu and tantojutsu) and unarmed martial arts (Aikijujutsu) that were the exclusive martial arts of the samurai. Later these arts formed the basis of modern arts including Brazilian Jujitsu and Aikido. Our curriculum includes practical aiki-jujutsu applications which are subtle and extremely effective. Nami ryu is well suited to law enforcement and military, as well as home and personal self-defense.
