I've stayed at my fair share of hotels throughout my life, some hands down outstanding, some not so great. I have even stayed at this particular Best Western on a previous occasion and while I wouldn't have rated it best stay ever, it definitely got a sturdy satisfactory rating. My most recent however, has got to go down as the worst hotel experience I have ever had. For starters, since my last visit the hotel has taken on new management, which came with a 15% price increase. This increase included no new or updated fixtures or additional perks of any sort. Upon arrival, we were upset to find it to appear that our bed linens had not been washed recently, or at least in a proper fashion. When we took them off to put our new linens on, we found multiple discerning stains about the mattress. Later that evening, we called the office to ask for a cot as we had an extra person to accomodate (we were in town for a wedding and he was in from out-of-state). Instead of a helpful voice on the other end, we had an irate tone screaming at us about sharing our room and threatening to call the police, which the manager subsequently did. The officer explained to us that while she did not side with the manager, her job stated that she had no choice but to ask us to vacate as he had made it clear to her that he wanted us out. In short, I have never been so displeased or insulted by a business in all my life, especially one whose business it is to provide hospitality. Needless to say, I will not be going back and will tell everyone I know to avoid the hotel at all costs when in the lovely town of Fowlerville.
