Brought my cat here for a wound under her arm. The way the male technician handled my cat seemed uncaring. He was not gentle in holding her and this cat was in pain. The doctor cleaned the wound, but wanted to charge like $33 for the bandage and $35 to put it on the cat; when I didn't elect to pay it, they brought my cat back to me bleeding. They charge $30 for three anti-inflammatory pills, and over $65 dollars for the antibiotics. For the doctor visit, cleaning a wound with NO Bandaid over it, and antibiotic it cost over $150! My cat was still bleeding. what a horrible place to take your cat!!

I vas very disappointed in the service level and implied expertise demonstrated by the Summerfield staff during the initial scheduling of a beak and toe nail trim. My poor experience at Summerfield is related to their expertise with larger birds (blue & gold macaw), because I'm sure this animal hospital is good enough with dogs and cats, no arguing there. T

Their supposed "best bird handler" toweled the Sinbad (normal procedure) then proceeded to squeeze the birds head so tightly the skin tore just below her right eye and was bleeding (very unprofessional). They trimmed "Sinbads" beak then brought the bird back to me to settle her down at which time I went through the roof seeing her sitting there bleeding. Sinbad has been my companion since 1996, and we are as close as a person can get to a bird, so her pain was mine too.

Then they decided they really didn't have the expertise to handle such a large bird, and the person that normally handles big birds was unavailable. So after them rescheduling me twice, providing abusive (barbaric) treatment, and wasted a scheduled visit, they backed out and turned Sinbad away saying they couldn't proceed because they were "uncomfortable" handling the bird. Sinbad is a very docile, sweet, and friendly to strangers type bird under normal circumstances. BOTTOM LINE: Big bird owners, avoid this place like the plague. Their attitude was condescending and borderline rude, and my attitude at that point was not so good either in retrospect. I have pictures of Sinbad's bleeding face that I wished I knew how to post here, so my words will suffice in this case. A Truly Awful Experience with Summerfields Animal Hospital. A one star rating is one too many.

Do not take your pet here! I took my dog here early March for a skin problem. She was hardly looked at and diagnosed with allergies 250 dollars later. In that same meeting I voiced she had lost a lot of weight and had trouble standing up (she's only 10 years old ) that was not addressed. Well now in April, my dog could not stand on her own and hasn't eaten in days We took her in and the vet diagnosed her with a back disease without even taking blood or X-rays. I still was voicing that she hasn't eaten and she was very weak and won't move. That same night my dog threw up all night. I called in the morning. I never spoke to the vet. Just office staff and nothing was resolved. (The vet was too busy to talk to me as my dog was literally dying). We ended up talking her to an emergency vet and she had got so sick we had to put her to sleep. They don't care about the well being of your pet.

Stay away from this place, unless you want to wait for an hour to go back to a room, and pay rediculous amounts for things your pet doesn't need! Also don't kennel your dog here, unless you don't want them fed! Our dog wasn't fed for 2 days. We had proof from watching the camera in the presidential suite, but they still argued with me. There are too many other good places to take your pets. Stay away from Summerfield Animal Hospital.
