Lilipad Catering Company

We had a corporate event at Lillipad in January 2014. I would not recommend this venue for any Corporate private events. The venue itself is very cute and might be more suited for a social event. OUR Lessons Learned: Note there is only one restroom. When ordering an "open bar" make sure that you specifically ask for soda to be included in your bar service, as they do not have beverages "in house" to add as needed, i.e. coke, sprite, etc. (or at least they did not the evening of our dinner)



Corporate Clients Notes: 1. There were some difficulties with our event with the temperature of the food that was served. 2. Our corporate client did not like the way the owner treated his team members.

At our post convention conference call, we were asked to reach out to the owner and discuss their experience on owner/employee interaction and the temperature of the food served, cold. They felt that compensation should be given, since some of their group went back to the hotel and ordered food, due to temperature of served items.



Owners Response: Was angry, unprofessional and inappropriate. It is a shame, since it is a cute venue. A few snippets are listed below for your review.



You should have looked at the contract before writing this. I followed the contract as it was written, agreed to and signed by your company.



"I’m not going to address your feedback because it so off base. In my 25 plus years of restaurant ownership, this was by far, without a doubt, absolutely the worst group I’ve ever served.

So here is my feedback…know what your guests want inasmuch as their dietary needs, wants, desire and whatever other whimsical demands they may have. Could make for a smoother event and remedy some issues you speak of below. You may want to consider your own accountability in this matter instead of just passing the buck and shifting blame.

Secondly, I wouldn’t give back one penny to this group and for twice the money I would never entertain the notion of contracting with them again. You however are welcome give back as much of your money as you deem appropriate.



Lastly, I have no concerns or worries about my reputation or integrity. My reputation is stellar and anyone who knows me or knows of me and my company would quickly recognize without cause and provocation, I would never react to a guest like this. This was a bunch of little dogs trying to be big dogs on the company dime. I hope I’ve made my position crystal clear.
