Overall

If you are considering using Two Men & A Truck, FORT MILL, you should run fast and far. I solicited 3 quotes for my move from SouthPark to our new home in the Fort Mill area. The young man who visited my home to provide a quote was presentable, personable and professional and left a good impression. He explained that they didn't use day labor and that all of their employees were comprehensively trained. Because their quote came in $300 less than the other two, I hired them for my 4/26/18 move. My former home has been impeccably maintained, included beautiful hardwood floors, and I was assured that everything would be protected. Shortly after the 3 movers arrived, it became apparent that the "lead" man was not leading. He was not communicative and didn't give any impression of being in control. I quickly realized that they were starting to move my furniture without having covered/protected the hardwood floors. I was told that the pads they needed were not on the truck as they should have been. At that point I asked that they stop the move until the proper protection could be provided. The "lead" called his supervisor and arranged to have pads delivered. I requested that I be allowed to speak with him but I was never connected. By then I was really getting concerned and called their offices 4 times before I was able to connect with a live person. It was apparent that I was not happy and she assured me that someone who would take charge was on their way with the the protective pads. Meantime, their crew created a large arc-shaped scratch right in the hardwoods right at the entrance door. When I confronted them the "lead" acted sheepish and tried to deny that they were responsible. I had cleaned the floors for 8 years and knew every mark in them and it was obvious that this scratch was fresh. The crew continued to move quickly and I was really at my wits end by that time. 1-1/2 hours later, the supervisor showed up and took command. He could see that I was fuming and promised to stay until the entire move to our new location was completed. From that point on, because he was clearly in charge, the move went much smoother. Just before we left my former home, my husband noticed a mat containing broken glass. Turns out that they had broken the glass from a set of nesting tables. Photos of the scratch and broken glass were taken and I was assured that the glass would be replaced and the scratch would be repaired. In addition, there was no evidence of professional training. I have a large china closet that was part of the move. If my husband had not been present to intervene, the china closet would have dropped to the pavement and likely been irreparably damaged. It's now 8 days post-move and neither has been taken care of. I opted to pay $150 to get extra coverage for any damages in the event that something catastrophic happened. The young man who contacted me about replacing the glass said there was a $250 deductible, which was never discussed. After all the stress created by the move, I was shocked to come home yesterday and find that he had left the broken glass (not even wrapped for safety) propped up on my front porch. I have had two conversations with the persona who supervised the move and asked to speak to either the franchise owner or their operations person. I have twice been told that he would have them call me - so far, no contact. My strong advice to you is that if you are looking for professional movers and a positive experience, TAKE A PASS ON TWO MEN & A TRUCK IN FORT MILL. I am not a drama queen and am a reasonable consumer, but the lack of care and total lack of follow-up has been totally disappointing. They are a franchise so another location may do a better job, but there's no way I would ever recommend the Fort Mill franchise. Buyer beware and do your homework. My experience proves that you get what you pay for, and that doesn't include the additional and unnecessary stres
