Dental Examination
Our digital intraoral and extraoral cameras take crisp digital photos of the inside and outside of your mouth, and enable us to have clear views of your teeth, gums and smile. These photos are taken during your new patient exam and provide additional information for diagnostics, smile evaluation and treatment planning.
X-rays
Our cone beam 3D CT scanner also takes two-dimensional panoramic X-rays. Panoramic X-Rays capture a highly detailed image of your entire mouth and clearly show your teeth and sinuses in one panoramic overview. They are a valuable supplementary tool for a comprehensive analysis of your oral health, as they help us see features not visible with limited X-rays.
Oral Cancer Screening
Dr. Levine uses the high-tech Identafi® oral cancer screening system to check for any abnormalities in your oral tissues.

Teeth Cleaning
Our hygienists provide thorough and gentle cleanings using an ultrasonic scaler in combination with traditional hand instruments. Ultrasonic scalers use high-frequency vibrations to dislodge and remove accumulated bacterial deposits on your teeth. The vibrations also kill the bacteria, which greatly increases the thoroughness of the cleaning. Ultrasonic scalers clean deeper and faster than traditional hand scaling instruments and are more comfortable for patients.
Dental Sealants
A powerful whitening varnish is applied to your teeth as the first layer, followed by a sealant layer that dries in seconds and locks the whitening agent in the teeth. You can leave the chair after the two layers are applied. After waiting 30 minutes, you remove the varnish by wiping it off with a cloth or brushing your teeth.

Crowns
The crown of a tooth is the visible part of the tooth that shows above the gumline. Sometimes, some of the gum and bone tissue around the tooth needs to be removed so that other procedures, such as placing a dental crown or filling a cavity, can be performed.
Bridges
Dental bridges are one of the traditional methods of replacing a missing tooth, but they have several disadvantages. For a dental bridge to be placed, the teeth adjacent to the missing tooth have to be ground down. This weakens those teeth and can lead to decay, fracture or other future complications. Additionally, dental bridges have an average life span of only seven to ten years.

Periodontal Surgery
Dr. Levine utilizes an advanced dental laser to provide effective, minimally invasive treatment for patients with moderate to severe gum disease. Laser treatment accomplishes the same results as traditional periodontal surgery, but without the use of scalpels or sutures. Laser treatment is gentler on the tissues, more comfortable for the patient and faster-healing.
Deep Cleaning
The first line of attack in treating periodontitis is a thorough cleaning to remove accumulated plaque and calculus on your teeth and below your gumline. We smooth the surfaces of your tooth roots to make it more difficult for further bacteria to accumulate, and to make it easier for the gums to reattach to your teeth. This entire process is called scaling and root planing, or deep cleaning.

Dentures
Tongue- and lip-ties can make it difficult to pronounce certain sounds and can inhibit chewing and swallowing. They can also make it difficult to maintain dental health and can cause pain in the jaw. Adults wearing dentures may have trouble with them not fitting properly, or repeatedly becoming loose, due to a frenum that is too short or too strong.

Our entire staff and I will be at our office to help you. We have spent a lot of time evaluating the situation and what we need to do to continue to provide optimal laser, periodontal and implant therapy for all of our patients, including the newborn infants. Oral Surgery
Gum Surgery
By necessity, a small amount of gum tissue is lost during traditional gum surgery, and the gums will often show some recession afterwards. This can expose the tooth roots and create sensitivity. With the laser procedure, there is no gum recession after treatment.
Tooth Extractions
Due to natural biological processes, after a tooth extraction the surrounding jawbone can greatly diminish in volume, making it more difficult to replace the missing tooth with a dental implant in the future. Dr. Levine performs a simple procedure, known as socket preservation, to prevent this from occurring.
Ridge Augmentation
S.M.A.R.T. or subperiosteal minimally invasive aesthetic ridge augmentation is available to predictably manage complex cases in the esthetic zone. It was developed by Dr. Ernesto Lee in Philadelphia.
Bone Grafting
Fortunately, Dr. Levine is able to regenerate lost bone and preserve your teeth and jaw with modern bone grafting techniques.

Braces
Although most periodontal treatment is given to adults, there are circumstances where children and teens need such treatment as well. Children and teens rarely have gum disease, but they will occasionally need gum or soft-tissue procedures of various kinds, and they sometimes need treatment that makes it easier to put on braces.
