Continental Pets

My wife took our Poodle to Continental Pets to be shaved down and remove matting. The cut was the worst we have ever experienced and the groomer /owner even cut off our dogs beautiful eyelashes.

As the groomer continued to use the electric shaver down to the skin she shaved over matted hair on the rear ankle and lacerated our dog requiring a visit to the Vet and two stitches.

My wife was present during the whole nightmare. My wife called me to explain what happened and that she was at our Vet having the wound repaired.

We than agreed to meet at the groomer to present the Vet bill. When I entered the premises I was very upset and angry and let the owner know exactly how I felt. I asked her if it was proper protocol to use electric clippers to shave off matted hair?

She flippantly replied “yes and that accidents happen.”

I told her that I am not a groomer but it would seem more logical to cut away matted hair so close to the skin with a pair of scissors! She replied that using the electric clippers is the correct way.

The groomer agreed to pay our Vet bill but did charge us $45.00 for the awful cut including buzzing off our dogs eyelashes.

Our precious dog has had to deal with the stress of minor surgery. He has to wear a hood for 1-2 weeks and has obviously been traumatized.

All do to the fact that “accidents happen.”
