Villa Isabella Restaurant

NOW CALLED VILLA ISABELLA.In June of '09 our school (in Forest Hills) had an end of year celebration. It was planned with the owner (Isabella) who was great over the phone but once we arrived it was a TOTALLY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE. First, she refused to let us play music after we told her we would bring a DJ with a small set and told us that she had to select the music and that she actually does not ever play music there. She said the only time she plays music is on New Year's Eve. Second, she was more interested in pleasing a group of 8 patrons rather than the 32 who were paying her approx. $1,400 for dinner & a selection of limited drinks. She advised us that she would not serve anyone more than 5 drinks and in the middle of the party yelled at the party coordinators, the principal and DJ. When we told her that we were paying a fair amount for each plate (the set price as listed on the website - no discount) she said "fair money, ha" basically supporting that she is money hungry non-business saavy woman, belittling our money, profession and event.This continued for more than ONE HOUR while our guests all wondered in horror why this woman was yelling at our and her staff. On numerous occasions we had to tell her to lower her voice and take her hands out of our faces for the one-sided conversation that we were having looked like a screaming match rather than a discussion. The only good thing about this place was the staff who told us that she does this to any large party and treats them like garbage as well as the food. What's more is that this woman (Isabella) after yelling at our DJ's has the nerve to ask them for a buisness card because she plays music on Friday's for her customers!! Furthermore, she refused to open the doors allowing air to come in, shut off the air conditioning stating that the neighbors would complain. The music was so low that only those in the back of the resteraunt could here the DJ music and those in the front could still hear the music she had playing. PLEASE DO NOT GET MISLEAD BY THIS WOMAN AS ONCE YOU ARRIVE, YOU ARE IN FOR A BIG SURPRISE AND EMBARRASSING SITUATION!! HER LACK OF PROFESIONALISM AND GREEDY SENSE OF SELF WILL EVENTUALLY DO THIS WOMAN AND HER LOCATION IN!!! SHE RECENTLY PURCHASED THE RESTERAUNT (2 YEARS AGO) AND BASED ON HER MANAGEMENT, I DOUBT SHE WILL STAY IN BUSINESS FOR A LONG TIME!!
