No stars really, but page wouldn't let me post until I checked at least one star. One of the worst experiences I've ever had with any contractor. In fact, THE worst. Ever.

Had a new brick enclosure and a new stoop done in August, 2011 (very good work done by that contractor, in stark contrast to Empire!) and hired Empire to install aluminum fencing & railings. Neighbor had similar work done by same masonry contractor at the same time. Empire took about 2 months to get the work done---business owner/foreman got married and went on honeymoon in the middle of the job without telling us! No lie!---and my neighbor, using another business, got their wrought iron work done in 3 days.

And that's not even the worst of it! Empire did a sloppy, inept job of drilling holes to mount the posts---didn't seem to have a properly working drill and even had to use our house electricity when their generator quit, blowing out one of our circuits in the process---and damaged the brand new granite steps we had just installed. Top step showed cracks within a year, and I just now (1/20/2015) noticed serious cracking around the post in the bottom step as well. The underlying brick of the stoop also has a crack from the top step clear to the ground under the top railing post. Probably a couple of thousand dollars worth of damage all told.

My advice: avoid these guys like the plague unless you enjoy being disappointed and cheated out of professional workmanship.
