Stryker's Paint Store Inc

I went into Stryker's to get decking stain. After a conversation with the store manager on Monday, he talked me into using Storm Systems solid decking stain. I explained I needed 3 gallons in the Lighthouse Fog color to start staining the deck Wednesday morning to squeeze the job into the weather situation. The store manager told me he would mix the 3 gallons Tuesday morning and that I could pick it up Tuesday afternoon. I arrived Tuesday afternoon to pick up the stain, only to find out he had not mixed the stain as promised. After waiting 15 minutes while the store manager roamed around the store he told me that he didn't have the base to mix the stain. I said there were 2 gallons of base right on the floor and he then said that was for another customer. I said we had discussed my project schedule and that I ordered the 3 gallons Monday which he remembered. He provided no apology or anything. He said I could some other lower quality stain, which was just a stupid thing to say. I told him I could not even describe how disappointed I was on how he screwed me and the project schedule. Then he told me I could go buy the stain somewhere else. This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Don't waste your time going to Stryker's paint - the store manager is a total moron and doesn't care about any customers

Totally disagree with review from 6/14, I am a LONG time painter in the area and have done business with Strykers for 20 years, hands down the best of the best, no one and I mean NO ONE has the stain/paint matching skills Dave has, his knowledge is deep, and when I have a tough project HE is the one I call, even if I pay a little more it's beyond worth it, painting is a tough business mistakes cost a lot of time and money,

Dave and staff have a VERY STRONG depth of understanding paints and the materials they cover. The person who wrote the review on 6/4/11is totally incorrect in their statements. Stryker's has been in business for over 80 years in Hunterdon County and continues to serve the County with great products, service and full knowledge of their products. I highly recommend them. Why would you go to a big box store and talk to a person who has no understanding of how to apply paint?

The most disappointing store that I have dealt with. The owner accidentally threw out the stain I brought over for matching (which he was not able to match) and after 5 weeks of promising it to redo it, still has not redone it. Now we have to redo the entire job with a new stain because those small areas that needed the touch up can not be done with the stain he made and we don't have the old one. He got very very uptight when I called to follow up on the promised dates and he is unwilling to do it saying it's a gratis thing. Based on his reactions and things he yells he should not run a shop.
